Today while reading the 4 wheeler through the hills I ran across an injured terrapin. It's shell was crushed and was bleeding pretty heavily, but a question came across my mind. Should I move him off to the side in the weeds to pass away on his own terms? Or should I put him out of his misery and pain? I eventually just picked him up, and set him off deep in the weeds. My question is what would you guys do? Put him out or let him pass on his own terms?

I'm not sure what else you could do. He was not going to make it. Was he in pain? How would we know. I think you did the right thing. Tough call, but I believe you made the right decision. A mercy killing for an animal is certainly justifiable.

I went back to check on the little guy in the spot I left him, but I never found him. If I found him I planned to bury him somewhere back on the hill. I know that sounds weird lol, but I felt attached to the little thing. If he was healthy I was going to bring him home, and name Rupp Calipari.
