Really ugly game in the first half for Powell. LC scored from 4 yds out in the 1st quarter. Neither team scored in the 2nd quarter. Powell moved the ball well in the 3rd quarter but couldn't punch it in. Powell took over in the 4th and put all 25 points up. LC is a real scrappy bunch. They play hard. Powell showed some real toughness tonight. When things weren't clicking, they could have packed it in but they kept plugging away...Good job!

Did Powell come out flat after their big win last week?

I don't think Powell came out flat but Lewis is a little better than expected. Lewis defense is pretty good. Lewis turned the ball over four times in the first half, all on their side of the field and still led 6-0 at start of fourth quarter.

I thought the big play of the ballgame was the facemask on lc during a fourth down stop. Powell punches it in and kinda knocked wind out of lc defense. I know lc run ten total offensive plays the second half!! Lewis defense was on field the entire ballgame and just wore down.

Lewis is a scrappy team. They have a descent D but the belly eventually wore them down. If the belly is run right, it tends to do that.

The LC defense just wore down and got tired. That's what happens when the offense can't stay on the field. LC has a lot of questions on the offensive side of the ball. It's a good thing we have two weeks to prepare for Fleming. I think if our offense moves the ball some and keeps the defense off the field for a bit, then the D doesn't wear down like they did and Lewis wins the ballgame. Great game Powell. Powell is a really good football team and real classy bunch. Good luck to PC the rest of the way.
