It looks like the weather will be beautiful for a great weekend of softball in Frankfort. As always it is going to be a good tournament with some of the better teams around the state, including:

11. Scott County
15. Central Hardin
18. Muhlenberg County
22. Heath
24. Christian Academy-Louisville

And teams receiving top 25 votes: Franklin County, Butler County, Eastern, Butler, Graves County, Collins, Woodford County

Sadly, I don't think I will be able to make it out there this weekend.

Central Hardin, which has already played 19 games, is NOT in the Capital City Showcase due to concerns about game limitations (CH still has six remaining mandatory district games, is entered in the loaded Owensboro Catholic Tournament and Thrill in the Ville).

It's not like CH is ducking competition: It plays Mercy on Tuesday (and still has remaining non-tournament games scheduled with Ballard, Greenwood, Green County, Meade County).

I was wondering if they were going to participate or not since they had already played so many games.

I wish the KHSAA would allow teams to play more games each season. I know some teams in Tennessee and Alabama play 50 or more games each season. Last year, the AAA champs in TN, Beech, played 41 regular season games and 55 games in the entire season. This year so far they have played 33 games.
