Homerun Hitters
#1
Who are some of the leading homerun guys in Kentucky? How many has Austin Johnson hit this season for Hazard and what about the kid from Wolfe County? Gimme some stats.
#2
Freshman Daniel Neal for South Laurel has 10 or 11.
#3
too many small parks and bad competition to make HR numbers valid

Well what is Applebees down the line? 310 or 320? Thats a decent softball shot. Anyway, lets give the guys some credit. A homerun is a homerun no matter how big the field is. It goes down as HR in the scorebook. 10 or 11 homeruns for a Freshman is unheard of. The kid at South Laurel must be special. Souths field isnt to small either is it? Lets here some more stats. Im sorry everyone dont have 400 foot down the lines and 500 to center fields. It is what it is.

Daniel Neal hit one out in marietta georgia on a field that was 340 down the line with a wood bat he also hit one out of applebees park last summer with a wood bat.The new bats are toned way down but if you square it up it will still go.

Isnt a valid hr one that went over the fence fair? What are you talking about? Im pretty sure that all high school fields have to be the same down the lines. Not to mention Neal killed one off one of the top 100 kids in one of the other threads. (Vorbeck of Corbin. sp?)Also missed a grand slam by about a foot in the same game.

No, I have seen lef and right field lines range from 270 to 340. I have been to several fields that center was 300 or less.

Theyre not suppose to be different down the lines. Im almost positive that even several years ago that SL had to redo their fences down the lines to meet the high school requirements. Maybe someone with access to the rule book could give us a answer. There is no maximum distance, but like I said, Im pretty sure there is a minimum.

South laurel is 320 down the left field line,350 in center and300 down the right field line.

The field does not have to meet requirements to be used for play. However, post season games can not be played at fields that do not meet the length requirements. The only requirements are a grass infield, lights, scoreboard, and 350 in center.

Estill has 3 (C. Thomas, W. French, A. Brinegar) Corey Thomas hit one out against Buckhorn. Wade French and Austin Brinegar's were inside the parker's

Caleb Kellogg JR at North Oldham has hit 7 HR's. One out at Thuman Hutchins which is about 375.

Have to agree with the other posters. Some of these fields are not regulation and the competition at some of these schools are weak at best. Only real indicator is HRs while on a travel team playing against better competition.

I believe it is 320 or 340 to dead center @ Garrard Co....and I think it is only 300 down the left field line. There are usually a lot of HR's hit there. With the new bat specs this year, I would say most of those are routine fly balls in normal size ballparks.

I wanna say it's 310 0r 320 down the lines at Whitley. Bout 340 or 350 in Center. Maybe someone could help me out. It's been so long since ive been back to the baseball fields i cant even remember.
