is just going to have to rise to the challenge, and work up to their
level. But when you get right down to it, every year you can pick any class,
name 6 teams, and 5 out of 6 years the champ will come from those
6.
i don't think it has been good for high school football either but it won't be a big deal because lowlands will have to forfeit their titles one day nobody wins five in a row and it being legit. trinity is at least legit. i think some schools are capable of rising to their level as long as they work hard but i don't think anyone outside of northern ky or louisville is capable of doing so

Yes, but if you look at it the other way doesn't it cheapen it for the private schools now if they're not playing by the same rules?

What rules are they now playing by? Who Lexington Christian? They were punished. Lexington Catholic??? They've gotten past Highlands ONCE.
If you have an open or Independent district, you have the advantages of a private school. Additionally, the tuition would be less than going to the Private school.
You guys cry about private schools for three reasons. Two of them are in Louisville and one is in Lexington.

Boyle Co. won 2 state championships during Highlands' recent run that they wouldn't have otherwise.
Maybe, maybe not. That's not a given. IMO Boyle could have competed with Highlands. With Dawson and McShara Boyle was 30-0 those years. Boyle blew out a Johnson Central team 49-7 and won 36-29 in 2010. Highlands won in 2009 42-21 and struggled in 2010, 21-14. Not saying at all that Boyle was the better team, but there is no way to prove that Boyle would not have won the Championship those years. My gut says we would have split between the two years.

Bethlehem
Bishop Brossart
Christian Academy-Louisville
Covington Catholic
DeSales
Holy Cross (Covington)
Holy Cross (Louisville)
Kentucky Country Day
Lexington Catholic
Lexington Christian
Newport Central Catholic
Owensboro Catholic
St. Xavier
Trinity (Louisville)
That Bethlehem vs. Trinity sure would be a great 1st round playoff game:Cheerlead
If they dont like it, they need to give up football as a private school.
However, this is not all of 5A as i wanted. You forgot every single Fayette County School, along with many others.

Easier solution is for you to partition the KHSAA for your own class and you can invite 10 teams that you know that you will beat. That way you can call yourself a champ. Are there even any private schools in your class? I doubt that there are any in your district.

He just listed private schools, I think.

Just how do you arrive at that conclusion? Would you care to submit
some proof? Even maybe an unfounded accusation?
Trinity's status as a major parochial school in the state's largest
city leave it in a position to exploit fantastic advantages over
every other school in the state. Advantages that aren't against
the rules, but nonetheless provide it with a huge step up on
all their competitors before the first snap takes place.
Highlands is a public school. And a long historical commitment
to football, and a community that supports it from the early ages
on. I have no idea whether or not they may ahve ever committed
rules transgressions or not, but it's pretty obvios that their
program is about the most committed to football in the state,
and it's not very reasonable to go around tossing your kind
of allegations about.

Im entitled to my opinion.
Id love to see it the way i mentioned.
Im not going to take 3 or 4 hours to lay out the system i want and every teams class they would be in, but you mentioned it wanting to make it easier on me? Whitley is a 5A school. With the system im presenting, the 4A class would still have to go threw John Hardin, Bowling Green, Conner, Franklin County, as well as all the mountain schools such as Harlan, Lethcer, Perry, N Laurel, S laurel. I havent looked at the numbers off the top of my head, but i wouldnt be surprised if there ended up being a Boyle and Johnson Central moving up number wise.
Far from an easy road.
I gave you the math, you figure it out. If you list every team and there classes with my proposal, i think youd be surprised at how good it sounds.

I know. He jumped on me without fully reading my post. I didnt want the 5A class to be only privates. It would also be for huge numbered schools, such as all of the fayette county schools, along with some NKY schools. By the time that class fills up, they'll be enough room to have the same playoff format we have today without this nonsense of four team districts.

What's the difference? Instead of Highlands or LexCath or CovCath winning it, Bowling Green and Boyle would own the state title every year. Also, you will see that Bowling Green and Boyle Co. fans do not complain about separating private schools from public. It's mostly people from Lousiville (which I can see) and the mountains, which for the life of me I will never understand. You guys are in 5A. How many private schools do you A. Face every year? and B. Compete directly w/ for athletes? Even if you eliminate private schools, you are not impacting your school at all b/c Privates do not directly impact your school presently.
