As expected, Whitley wins going away.
For the first time ive ever seen, in the second half, the clock was reduced to 10 minute halfs, and it was also a running clock for 20 straight minutes of football, or it would have been much worse. Frosh was starting to come in at halftime and a lot of jv guys played the majority of the game for Whitley.
Whitley rushed for around 300 yards before halftime and no passing yards.
Im not sure Lynn Camp rushed for over 20 yards.
Good resting game for the Colonels, and the best part is, Somerset wont see nothing in this film...

I'm surprised Whitley didn't hang up 100 despite all the elements of a shortened, running clock & freshman and JV playing. Whitley is going to be a force in 5a come playoff time, Dangerous game for a lot of schools who will over look them. Whitley could very possibly end up out west this December, and I'm rooting for them to. Harlan County seems to be down from previous years while Whitley is on the rise, and Highlands is outta there. Wouldn't exactly count Whitley completely out vs them this year to be honest.

Whitley didn't need to pass the ball to beat this team. Whitley County has a very nice football team very well coached! #44 was a man child on defense he is one heck of an athlete. I hope the kid from Lynn Camp is ok he seemed to have a very severe concussion. Hopefully they took him after the game to be looked at. Good luck next week against Somerset.

Wont see nothing on this film huh? I didn't realize that double negatives were used in the English language. Some very bad officiating led to a Whitley victory last year. Whitley is better, but so are the Jumpers. Good luck on Friday, have a safe trip to Somerset.

I'm not taking up for the officials because I wasn't there but you mean that Somerset played a perfect game, made no mistakes at all and that the officials cheated the Jumpers??? Come on now...

You won't. We ran a 6th grade offense last night. It's all we needed.
This isn't english class, so I'll use double negative as much as i want.
Im not even going to bring up last year. Put's a bad taste in my mouth thinking about that game and we won...

I hope your right, man.
To be honest, I feel like this region is winnable by any team.
If you do get out of this region, it will take a hell of a game to beat Cooper, Conner, Anderson, Franklin County, or a Montgomery, whichever comes out of that region.
I'll never get ahead of myself, IMO, we have to actually compete with Harlan County first.

Not by any means, very rarely does a high school team play a "perfect" game. However, having 3 TD's called back (two on the last drive of the ball game, both of which would have won the ball game for the Jumpers), and not getting calls on high low chop blocks inside all night long made it almost impossible to win for the Jumpers. Fortunately the Jumpers get a chance to avenge the loss from last year. Like I said, Whitley is a good football team, and started turning the corner last year IMO, but the Jumpers are pretty dang good as well. Good luck, and have a safe trip.

Can you show some of those blocks on film. Not saying they didnt happen but all teams have film.
I'm sure Noel Hargis the Assigning Secretary for football officials in 12th region, Somersets region, will have his best crew on the game!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, isn't he transportation coordinator at Somerset schools?????

As a matter of fact Somerset has 15 plays cut up and on hudl to show the officials of the high low blocking in the box... So yeah. Noel Hargis is indeed the assigning secretary, but the officials in this area are, to put it kindly, may not be calling ball games deep into the playoffs.

Why would you come on a post for the team you play next week and start bashing them for no reason. You have to learn to be considerate of others, and learn to win and lose graciously. Your team is probably not going to win every game, but if they do hang up the state-champ banner and do that with some class too. I guarantee you that you will get alot more respect from all involved.

Cool...I have a hudl account if I Pm you can you send to me????. What did Hargis and Tackett say about 15 uncalled chop blocks???? Were the officials suspended? Thats crazy to miss 15 chops, 1, 2 even 3 4 but 15..... WOW!!!!!!!

Not bashing, I only post facts. Read the second post down from RIUTG and it mentions not showing anything to Somerset based on the WC vs. LC film. Had there been no mention of the jumpers in this thread I would not have felt compelled to make a comment. Thanks for chastising me though I will think long and hard next time I decide to post something on an opponents thread, the SHS fan base is actually pretty knowledgable and enjoys high school football around the state.

I think all three of the Somerset area teams will be in the mix for state championships in their respective classes in the coming years. There really seems to be alot of talent in this region right now. Most of the fans I have met from all three schools are really nice but most are really competitive and get caught up in the action and aftermath of the games. I think some go overboard, but too much enthusiasm may be better than not enough. It seem to be working good for all three teams right now. The future looks bright for the Pulaski Co teams.

You can't get footballfever, that guy knows more people and officials around here than Tackett does lol.
Kudos to fever once again for knowing more than me lol.....

I was at last years game. The calls on the three touchdowns were all legit calls. I can not speak for the missed calls because there is something missed in the box on every play. The punt return at the half was the most obvious of the TD's called back. Two kids chopped the punter instead of just blocking him. Their blocks would have made no outcome on the play but they were to obvious to ignore. Attempting to take the punter (Bryant) out of the game was a gamble that did not work out for the Jumpers. A designed cheap shot cost Somerset that game.

I am going to have to disagree with ya on the kid's injury. He did in fact have a gash in his forehead his face was covered in blood when I turned around and saw him. I heard his father say he had a heart condition but I dont think that was his problem. Myself I think the kid had a severe concussion. He was very disoreinted and his speech was slurred like someone that had a stroke. All that matters is that he is ok.

I have much respect for this Whitley team....you have our attention....we respect you....I really hope we get to open up our new field with you all....maybe for the district championship.

I can remember a time when Lynn Camp could play with most any team in the mountains. I hope that program gets back on track.
