Should teams with 1 win be in the playoffs
#1
I believe that they should not
#2
Yes, they should. Winless teams should also be in the playoffs.
#3
Should basketball and baseball teams who win one and/or 10% of the regular season games be allowed in the playoffs?

Why shouldn't a 1 win team or a win-less team be in the playoffs? We can all want a change in the classes but that doesn't mean that the KHSAA will just up and change it as we please.

I have never seen anybody explain how Kentucky high school football would be made stronger by shortening the season for nearly half of the teams. At the high school level, the regular season should be used to develop individual skills and prepare teams for the playoffs. The number of classes and length of the season should be set so that every team can participate in the playoffs.

This is the Indiana system and it encourages teams to play challenging schedules during the regular season and it also rewards teams for putting a premium on developing depth by not making every loss one that could end the team's playoff hopes. Teams like Indy Cathedral often finish the first half of their seasons with losing records and then play deep into the playoffs. Indian typically has much more parity among its football teams than Kentucky does and I think that its playoff system deserves part of the credit.

If cutting a football games from the schedule would not benefit players and would not result in championship teams being better at the end of the day, then what is the argument in favor of less football?

I would normally say no, but the fact is the kids on those teams dont want to be done yet either. The other thing is you have a situation like in 1a dist 1 the #3 seed is 1-9 Fulton Co and they will be going to Louisville to play the #2 seed Ky Country Day, they could actually get a playoff win. Do you realize what that would do for the community of Fulton Co. Therefore, I think its all good.

Yes, lets shorten the best sport out there and make our season over a week earlier....

They only get 10 games as it is. Quit complaining about the setup or move to a state where you like it.

I'm not a fan of winless teams making the playoffs, but Kentucky is not in a position to change the format. There are not enough teams in each classification to change it, and the KHSAA is not dropping from 6 classes until Tackett leaves. Again, I don't like having winless teams in the playoffs, but it is what it is.

Besides, if a team loses to a winless or 1 win team in the playoffs, then they have no reason being in the playoffs either
