Lets understand something. Those comments by the somerset players that were supposedly said. THEY WERE SAID. Heard them with my own ears. FYI, Hayes had 25 carries for 125. I gave somerset credit, I believe they were a good defensive team. But here's what you ppl can't grasp. As good as all of you down were saying you we're, NCC moved the ball all night. Turnovers stalled three drives. One of the turnovers was a fumbled snap on the somerset 6 yard line. No somerset player forced that. The other fumble was on the somerset 25, was a nice strip by somerset. The 3rd was a dropped pass that fell into a somerset DBs hands. I don't think somerset got past the NCC 40 yard line more than 2 times. The first was on a kick return, then it took that offense about 15 plays to go 28 yards lol. And if not for an offsides penalty, you guys get stuffed on 4th down. The 2nd was the last drive and penalties and prevent defense helped lol. Lets flip the turnovers and play "if". If somerset had turned it over three times, it's a running clock in the third. That's how much better NCC was. FACT.

Please stop arguing with this stupid Yank. It's not worth it.

Love my Jumpers. We will be back next year.

You're right. If nothing else has solidified my hatred for NKY this certainly has done the trick. The NCC PLAYERS were a good business like bunch that played tough football, but the fan base has been outrageous.

Is there any truth to the rumor that Coach Lucas is resigning as head coach at Somerset?
#67
I had a coach at a rival school tell me yesterday that the word is that Coach Lucas will be resigning as Somerset's coach. I still haven't heard anything from the Somerset side.

I sure hope not, but would not be surprised...not been treated that great by some over the last four years. Would not have got the job after being interim if he hadn't went 14-1 that first year.

Robbie is a fine coach and a better man, I for one would be really disappointed if he was to leave.

From a football standpoint Somerset hasn't played this type of hard nosed football since John Cain was here...IMO!

Coach Lucas really is the kind of man that would do anything for his players and truly wants the best for his players outside of football, which is hard to say for some at this level.

Heard from a very reliable source that Coach Lucas was interviewing today for the West Jessamine job.

And you would be stirring this pot, why??

West Jess...jeez???
#73
Not stirring any pot, just stating what I understand to be true, not a rumor.

Unless he's interviewed from the basement of Somerset High School this is not true, he's been in his classroom all day... And this type of interview wouldn't be conducted via telephone so...

Amazed at how Rumors get started. IMO Coach Lucas will be at Somerset next year, ready to make another Run deep into Play-offs.
#76
That kind of sounds like it would be a step down to go from Somerset to W Jessamine. I've seen strange things happen, but that would definately be one.

Especially considering we demolished them last year:Thumbs:, but with the talented youth coming up i believe it would be hard for him to walk away.

Take this crap to another thread. Also, maybe he's leaving because of the way some of these kids act.....just saying. Or maybe he realizes somerset will never get past a NKY team to reach the state finals.

Talent is one thing . . . administrative support, professionalism and respect is something altogether different.

I have heard from different people around town about the WJ job. But like you all have said, rumors are rumors. Honestly, I think he'll be at Somerset next season.
#83
Coach has a family to support and West Jess has offered him what he needs to do that. He has sacrificed a lot for these kids and this school. Administration rarely comes to games, gives little support to the program. Principal at SHS was in the administration at Lincoln Co. that screwed him over there. Parents of a lot of these players have given him nothing but grief about their boy needing more touches/minutes, etc.

As someone close to the program, I know there are a lot of good coaches on staff but its hard to know if they are ready to move forward without him. Go back and read his comments in the newspaper after the game. Nothing he said was in a tense that sounded like he would be here next year.

This coming week is going to be interesting. I'm positive that there is more to this than rumors. Whatever the difference(s) is between Coach Lucas and the Somerset administration, I hope they can work it out before the middle of next week. If not, then it may be too late to keep Coach Lucas here!!!! :HitWall:

Just for the record, New Cath played a better game, but clearly they should be on the lookout for the Jumpers next year, we return all of our skilled positions. The jumpers are going to be scary in 2013.. Look out.

Also I want to say I am a very close friend to coach Lucas and a former player on the undefeated seasons.. I want to say that I want coach to do whatever makes him happy, thats what he deserves, and if somerset can not come through with his requests of just getting his wife a job? Thats pathetic, the man has completely transformed Somerset football, and I think the administration is making a huge mistake. I hope he leaves, and I hope he gets the respect he deserves when he goes to another school..
