So are we just now going to be a freshmen team and not play any older kids. Why are older kids not stepping up, we had a lot coming back from last year. Do the players not believe in what is happening

to be quit honest most of the upper classmen just dont have the grit and fight in them. Some of them do, but majority don't. the younger guys seem to want it more. maybe some time on the bench is what some older guys need to light a fire under them. i dont see it happening, I also beleive if this was any other school then rock the coaching staff would be playing for there coaching lives the next two weeks.

If you have the right athletes, the passing game in high school football, coupled with a hurry up offense, can be deadly.
If you try to do it without having those really good athletes and try to turn a running team into a passing team, it could cost you your season. See Whitley County 2006 and 2007.

I do not think this will matter this week. I am not sure who Whitley will start against Rock. 2/3 rds of their offense will not be playing in this game. I think Whitley probably wins, because they still have Ysidro. I think this maybe a tough week to scout the Colonels, because they may have to become a little more inventive with so many offensive players out.

Are you saying McPhedrige is not an athlete?? Man he play both football and basketball. He is a heck of an athlete and a very good Qb. He's biggest problem is he has no one that can catch the ball. That and not a very good line to block for him. But to say rock has no athletes is wrong. You have some but just a lot of them.

I do not think that is what happened at Whitley at all. I think Coach Black had a hard time implementing that offense under some of the limitations that he had at Whitley at that time. I think a lot of the problem during that time was some of the teams they were playing was pretty good, and they were a little young.

In 06 and 07 he tried running the same offense he ran at Wburg which was very pass heavy. He soon realized he didnt have a QB to throw the ball like he had at Wburg so in 08, he went to option football and went 12-2. Thats how much of a difference an offense makes. Had he done that in 07 with the same team, they would have been much better. 2-8 to 12-2.

Kids can play multiple sports and still not be that good of an athlete, Rock has never had anyone like Timmons,Beach, or this Harris kid from southern . I'm not taking nothing away from Rock players heck my kid plays but go look at Trinity and male if you want to see athletes

Most schools in this area have not had athletes of that caliber. You do not need great athletes to have a great passing offense. All you need is receivers that will run good routes that do not have to be speedsters a descent quarterback and a good coach. Without the coach you have nothing.
