Top ten WR in the mountains?
#1
Opinions?
#2
Cody Estep, Pikeville is one of the best in the Mountains, IMO.

Freshman:

Sophomore:

Others I would add:

-Hudson (Hazard)
-Hughes and Harper (Rockcastle County)
-Griffith and Shelton (Williamsburg)
-Taylor (Belfry)
-Dalton (Lawrence County)
-Johnson and Gregory (Pulaski)
-I believe there is a good one from Somerset?

This could be a good thread. Not a whole lot of talk about Mountain WRs usually. Be good to get informed by different people from different areas.

Mathew Barger when he isn't playing Qb is one of the best.
#4
Noble from Breathitt.
#5
Estep- Pikeville
Taylor- Belfry
Wilson- Harlan Co
Griffith- Wburg
Hudson- Hazard
Dalton- Lawrence Co
Cheuvront- Somerset
Smith-Pulaski Co
Johnson- Pulaski Co
Noble- Breathitt Co

IMHO, those are your 10 best WR's..how they are ranked your guess is as good as mine.If I had to take a stab at it for conversation sake:
1. Hudson- D1 size and skills
2. Estep- Best pure WR
3. Cheuvront- Fastest WR
4. Noble- Hudson skill set minus the D-1 athleticism
5. Wilson- Extreme versatility, consistent
6. Taylor- Extreme versatility, drops too many passes
7. Griffith- Another pure WR
8. Smith- The best of a good core
9. Johnson- Right behind Smith
10. Dalton- Most upside
#6
Griffith with 3000 yards midway into his junior season and Shelton with 2000 plus. Shelton missed 5 games his freshmen year with an appendectomy.

I have only seen Taylor in one game this year. The Harlan County game. As a WR I was not impressed. Way to many dropped passes that hit him between the numbers. In that one game I don't think he belongs in the top ten. Maybe some Pirate faithful can give us a little more info on him.
