Yeah, don't let the facts get in the way of a statement. :eyeroll:
And to describe some Freshman/JV games as barometers is hilarious. Ever heard of the notion that one group peaked then and the other got better?
The truth is, someone insinuated something they had no clue about. Now they can't back it up. What else is new?

I wasn't using freshman/jv ball as a barometer. I said that Boyle was very talented when Shs played them in freshman/jv in 10'/11', and that (at the time) I didn't think Boyle had a player as dynamic as Grey for Danville on their roster. Boyle is clearly the better team.
And I do distinctly remember "title town" when it was in its hay day, I'm certain there is still plenty of that in the area, although it doesn't hurt that both programs had hall of fame caliber coaches in chuck smith and Sam harp... Nobody could touch either program for a good 6 year run, boyles first loss in 5 years came at the hands of Danville if I'm not mistaken during the huge 60 game win streak in the early 2000's for Boyle. Hell I could talk all day about both programs, they're historic and iconic in our state...
All that said its about the 2013 version of the ads and jumpers tonight. Hope the jumpers come to play.

I think there have been approximately 4 or 5 moves from both sides since 2000 which is a wash. The most shocking move was this spring when coach Perry left Danville to coach at Boyle.

NCC has dropped off the map. They are nowhere near as talented as past teams. They are going to struggle getting out of Nky. Defense is ok and offense is extremely slow. This team showed promise in the summer but poor qb play, injury's and youth are the perfect storm.

Not counting the Breds out just yet. Now that it's 2a ball I think they cruise to the semis.

I hope you're correct but I guess will have to wait and see. One thing you can't beat is the optimism the Somerset crew has for their team. I wish NCC fans could display the same, but there is always so much criticism that goes on its hard to enjoy a win. NCC has played 4 teams ranked in the overall top 25 (forget the poll), and has four losses as well. The only blowout was Simon Kenton but it was 13-6 at half. Cooper and Campbell were close and they played Dixie with 7 starters out. That being said, the reason for the thoughts of a down year is that in the past they would of won the close games.

Not as much optimism as realism, jumper fans can back bite with the best of them! However I look at the east this year and I think the top three are Somerset, NCC, and Middlesboro maybe not in that order, but outside of those three I think it takes a major upset for someone else to represent the east in the state game.
Once again that's no disrespect to Danville, Somerset has to come ready to play every time they take the field or results like PC, Belfry and Hazard will happen.

Wow. Knew they were able but didn't think they could pull it off. Haven't seen any stats or anything but I bet Grey must be going off.

Danville now up 35-21.

After the way Danville played against Corbin I figured somerset would win this one. Somerset was way overrated this year I was guilty of it also. I thought they had a good chance at going deep in the playoffs. Looks like the bunnies finish up 4-5 on the regular season. I don't see them beating middlesboro after tonight.

I don't feel silly at all by saying I still think Somerset could beat any team in 2a...
