Rowan had some what of a promising start with a win over an injury depleted Morgan team. Rowan lost Friday to Gallatin co., Who is in their first year of football. Rowan led and had the lead in the 4th by 14 points and came out throwing the ball. Why?? Why do you throw the ball with a 2 touchdown 4th quarter lead and give the game away? Terrible coaching, Terrible. You beat Morgan running the bone coach Preston ran. Now all this pass happy stuff that will make you a 2_8 football team.Rowan will realize just how much they miss Preston when it's over. Rowan went from being the leading rushing team in the state under Preston last year to losing to a first year Gallatin co. football program this year. That's a big step backwards IMO.

Rowan had a very tough offseason.
Losing there Head Coach and best Asst. Coaches.
Losing the schools work horse running back-Wayne Stevens.(bath co.)
Losing the schools QB and Lockdown Saftery-Brett Norman(Lou. Western)
and NE Kentcuky best O-line.(all to grad.)
I was there for the start of the summer and they seemed to be doing some things right. Now the best way, but not horrible. It just appears that the team has hit rock bottom.

Even with that, I saw a pretty decent football team against Morgan. They got their best running back in Chinn playing qb ? Kyler Wright is a player and can fly. Jake Bowman starting t.e. was kicked off the team. Spread offense just isn't a good move for Rowan at all. Just because Preston installed the bone was no reason to go away from it. Big time drop off from great strides the past couple years. Now they go back to district after a possible 2-8 playing nondistrict play. Does not look good for the future of Rowan football. They should have done whatever it took to keep Preston imo.
Preston will prob win a statechampionship at Western and I think Rowan would have been prob 7-3 if he stayed.
