I may be wrong, but don't you have to have 10 days of full pads until you can scrimmage?

Ive heard that too, but most schools scrimmage twice a year How would this possible if you don't start full pads until August 1st?
First game this year for most is August 22nd. If you had to wait 10 days, it would be August 10th before you could scrimmage, and that only leaves 12 days before your first game.
The teams im thinking about might be the ones that scrimmage in week 0 instead of playing a game.

If you play in week 0, your scrimmage should be on the 15th. If you play in week 1, you have the 15th and 22nd. Maybe this was a 7v7
