Most people on here know who I am, and that my wife and I bought his old house in Johnson County a few years ago.
We have found news paper clippings from when he coached at Meade Memorial HS from the 1950's and 1960's in the attic. The foyer and dining room are floors are old basketball court floors that was installed when the house was built.
Everybody refers to our house as "Wendell Wallen's old house"..... And that doesn't bother me at all.
When Mr. Wallen was still healthy and in his right mind, his garden, landscaping and yard was better than any other house in Johnson County.
The lives he touched as an educator and basketball coach are endless.
