FRANKFORT, Ky (WYMT)- The Kentucky State Police has issued a statement on the release of Trooper Cameron Ponderâs final radio transmission, before he was murdered.
In a release KSP say they have received an extremely high volume of requests regarding the release of Trooper Ponder's final radio broadcast with a KSP dispatcher after he was shot.
According to KSP an internet based scanning service, not affiliated with KSP recorded the actual radio transmission then uploaded the audio file to Youtube.
Once the recording was discovered to be available online KSP say they contacted Youtube and requested the recording be removed.
YouTube responded, indicating that they carefully reviewed this request, but would not remove the video.
KSP said they have not endorsed nor provided any media outlet or news station this audio clip to use.
In an effort to protect Trooper Ponder's family, KSP says they have contacted every media outlet which has used the recording
The Kentucky State Police encourages the public to not share the audio clip on social media sites out of respect for the family.
For those who would like to register a complaint regarding the use of the audio clip, KSP recommends contacting YouTube directly, at the address below:

Trooper Cameron Ponder was shot to death on Sunday night after a traffic stop and high speed pursuit. Trooper Ponder had recently graduated from the KSP Training Academy, and started working for KSP in January and was a United States Navy Veteran.
Trooper Ponder was stationed at Post 1 in Mayfield and was assigned to the Trigg County.

The first audio that I heard on YouTube is gone. I thought it had been removed, but it has only been combined with another video to make a 10 min long video.
