Another really good team win by the owls. 3 weeks ago they weren't even in the conversation as a threat to win district but it just goes to show what can happen when tournament time rolls around.

Estill never did get into rhythm shooting the ball, credit some really good D from Owsley. Very disruptive and physical on both ends of the floor.

Congratulations to the Owsley County Lady Owls on a well deserved district championship. A wonderful tournament run by the young Lady Owls!!!
As for the game Owsley took control at start jumping out to a double digit lead. Owsley's defense turned out to be the difference in the game. They never allowed Estill to get in a true rhythm on the offensive end. The game was a series back and forth runs by both teams with the lead changing hands several times. Owsley made the final run in the last 2 minutes to pull out the win. Owsley got another amazing game by Gibson with 26 points and 20+ rebounds. For the tournament she averaged 33 points and over 20 rebounds. Came up big in crunch time of both games. Owsley once again got amazing play out of their eighth graders. Lexy Lynch and Amelia Murray combined for 16 points and made some huge plays down the stretch. Including 2 clutch free throws by Lynch with only seconds on the clock to seal the win.
