Liftathon, chile supper, and cake auction...
#1
Today we held our annual liftathon fundraiser and our guys are anxious like you. Each player has 5 different events to lift. Scoring based on total poundage lifted. Each player has his individual sponsers who pledge money per pound. It is a very good way for the boys to raise the money needed for their travel sweats, shorts, shirts, ect. Then we all venture to the school cafeteria for the chile supper where all the players, familys, fans, and coaches feast. Next we have an auction for cakes, candies, gift certificates, and misc. items donated to the Program. A great time is had by all and at the end of the day, a goodly amount of cash is generated for the kids. Our next football event is spring practice this next month. We are all looking torwards the 2007 season with great anticipation... Whats up at your school?
