More Cowbell Wrote:Godsmack is awesome, they are probably my favorite band to come out in the last several years! I didn't see them at the Expo this past December, but that was because I had already bought tickets for their show at Louisville in October before I knew they were coming here. I have also seen them when they opened for Metallica on their tour a few years ago. Now that was my dream concert!
That does sound like a great concert. I wish something like Godsmack would come back to the expo or even Rupp arena.

Godsmack but on a heak of a show the best I've seen and there was alot of people there too, the floor was totally packed and several sections of the upper arena were packed too, I think an all rock station with bands like godsmack, 3 days grace, staind, metallica, Avenged sevenfold, Nirvana, some 80's rock and more like that would hold its own around this area, But the heavier stuff might not do so well around this area although it's my favorite genre of music

Staind put on a great show earlier in the year. Also, they had 3 other bands with them which allowed people like me to kind of get to heard three days grace a little more. Crossfade sucked it up, I hated every song they played live (I listened to them a before the concert and a few of the song were not that bad), they absolutely killed the energy in the expo center until three days grace came out.

That concert would've been better. Seether was initially supposed to be there, but had to cancel due to their singer going into rehab, and Crossfade was then tabbed as the replacement. I was bummed when I heard that, because I like Seether pretty well (their sound kinda resembles a lesser version of Nirvana), whereas I can't stand Crossfade. Staind and 3 Days Grace both put on good shows, though.

Man, don't forget about Soil  . They were really good and got the crowd pumping at the beginning of the concert. It was when Crossfade played that killed the energy. I didn't get to go to the Godsmack concert in Pikeville but I know that Crossfade played again, blah. I would rather take a swift kick to the groin before listening to them again  !

There used to be a station out of Whitesburg that would go from the death metal hour to Billy Bob's bluegrass hour. Strange combo!

I believe that was called Appalshop. They used to do live shows in Whitesburg too. It varied a lot depending on who they got to come in and DJ. I used to have a couple friends who DJ'sd for Appalshop years back.

Haven't seen much discussion on this thread of wanting more country music, though.

Shinedown is always great live. Seen them 4 times, but Pikeville was probably their worst showing of the times I've seen them mainly because the singer had just gotten out of the hospital the day before.

I respect people that like it and I don't care if you do I just don't really listen to it. That why I don't comment on it. I won't chastise you for listening to it or anything
