Senior Grant Varney hits the game winner for the Blackcats at Paintsville.

First time Prestonsburg has defeated Paintsville since 2011/12 season. Blackcats move to 2-0 on the season.

I thought Prestonsburg played great for 3 quarters. Led by 10 at one point in the 3rd quarter, but costly mistakes and poor rebounding allowed Paintsville to claw their way back. The Tigers got a great effort out of Connor Fugate. Kid is a great player.

Blackcats have a lot to clean up, but this team showed stretches of their potential tonight. Played a lot better than they did Monday. May not be the most talented Paintsville team ever, but a win over the Tigers is always big for the Blackcats.

Martin County really screwed up!

Colby Fugate tried to carry Paintsville to victory but Pburg hit a nice shot at the end. Paintsville is pretty young this with three 8th graders getting major minutes. They made a lot of inexperienced mistakes but that will improve as the year goes on.
