What kind of coaching experience does his sister have? I know she played at Prestonsburg a few years ago. No clue on her coaching abilities because I honestly don’t know. Braxton has 2 years left of high school ball. I just think you need to look at 5 years down the road. Get someone who is there long term because Belfry has a lot of talent in the middle school
I thought Belfry was hiring Matt Thornsberry for the girls job

Thornsbury needs to be the hire in the long run but belfry will look at the now. Cant blame them but I can see keathley getting the job and Braxton jumping ship once the ink is dry

I’ve heard this rumor floating, too. But, I don’t know if there is any validity to it.

Last year was her first year as an assistant at D-2 Cameron University. I am unsure if she has any other coaching experience. I don't think she's been out of college that long so I would assume that was the beginning of her coaching career.

Would make zero sense for him to leave p burg. Honestly why? To possibly win a few more games? P burg will be solid next season with a hand full coming out that didn’t come out last year. Keathley has the green light at p burg and will likely leave there holding most if not all of the scoring records. It wouldn’t change anything with his recruitment. That will mostly be done thru AAU. Can’t pick a school to go to be a lock to win Region with the 15th being completely wide open as we all saw last year. There simply wouldn’t be any benefit.

I would hate to see Braxton go, but if he would go to Belfry, to ensure his sister gets a coaching job, and then bolt to Pike Central, that would be bad business and classless. I hope these rumors aren't true because that would set the program back tremendously.

Pburg solid next year? They may not win 5 games unless something significant happens with the roster.

So Keathley is transferring like he did 9th grade year and 10th grade year? I doubt that. Wasn’t true then, not true now. His sister played D1, was also hired in the athletics dept of a D1 school for 2 years and has coached D2. I don’t think she needs her brother for a back door deal for a hs job.

The real question is, "Why is she leaving COLLEGE, to come coach high school"?

Solid, is not how i see Prestonsburg next year. They graduated 3-4 seniors, if I'm not mistaken. Wasn't they down to like 10-11 players by season end?

Pburg basketball will be many things next year, but solid is not one of them.

idk if any of this is true but I think her experience is enough to land her a high school job. Maybe she wants to be closer to home.

I just don't see how it would make sense and Kevin isn't going to leverage his sons basketball just to get his daughter a job.
Brax is seemingly happy at Pburg. They dont have a "ton" around him but Im not sure they are too worried about the Win loss column

Yes he can score 30 ppg but that’s not helping much. Put Reed Shepard on pbrug instead of north laurel and does he make the nba???

The Martin County move doesn't make sense unless Keathley is willing to take a lesser role to possibly make it to a regional final. I don't see another Watts walking through the doors any time soon at MC. with the roster they have now they will struggle to compete with JC and Paintsville. With that being said Coach James will recruit a new roster like he does every single year. You'll see 3-4 different names wearing a Martin County jersey next season.

But Keathley on any team with any decent players to help him is a contender in the 15th region. We seen that this year.
Keathley, Maynard with shooters like Dials, Mills and with young freshman they had this year would be favorites to win the 15th region. James wouldn't need to add 3-4. If he did any anyone they would be clear favorites this year imo

He will not be at Belfry and his sister will not be coaching there. Just named Matt Thornsbury as coach.
Anyone heard about a rumor for Keathley to stay and grant hall and Caden Lawson join him?
