Boyd 2 Wolfe Counry 1
#1
Final from Lexington.

Really tremendous showing by the wolves this season.
#2
Boyd scored 2 on 3 hits. Wolf left 10 men on. Rough one. Still no reason to hang your head, incredible run.
#3
My Wolves done very well. So proud of them and Coach Campbell.

Just seen a video of the final out. Ball was wayyyyy outside. Ump calls strike 3 then proceeds to throw the Wolfe batter out of the game.

Wow. What a crappy call by the ump.

Agreed. I seen it live and not seen the replay but looked low and outside.

I saw it too. Atleast 6inches off the plate and low. But good season Wolfe. I hate to see that happen.

Big Congratulations to the Wolves. Very proud of the team and coaches. Tremendous representation of the 14th region.

It looked like an outside pitch to me, too. Really didn’t look close. But in a ball count like that, two out and bases loaded, you have to protect the plate. Gotta swing and not leave it in the ump’s hands on a game ending decision.

Too close to take, but in a caliber of game with a state final 4 on the line, that was a terrible call. I thought the umpiring was bad the whole game. I saw where the umpire was checking swings to first when it wasn't even close to being a swing. I thought our 14th region umpires done better than a lot of these guys I have seen at the state tournament.
#9
Not only a horrible call, but the umpire had to show his ego and eject the kid. Then, quickly walked away.
#10
Congratulations Boyd Co. 16th region is being well represented.

Bases Loaded with 2 outs for a trip to the State Final 4, and you strike out looking at a ball that far outside. That is a terrible way to end the game, and it's not even close. I get it, if it's just off the plate, but wow. That is a bad look on someone calling in a big game here. This is a regular-season miss. If you are calling in the state tournament, you can't be that bad. And I get the, you gotta protect with 2 strikes, but not when it is that bad.

I watched it live on NFHS and I said immediately, “WOW! That was clearly outside….not by a little, but by quite a bit!”
And after rewatching it several times I haven’t changed my opinion. I think it also caught the NFHS broadcast guys off guard too, because at first their voices sounded like they couldn’t believe the call too, but they didn’t comment about it except to finally say it ended the game with a Boyd win.
I don’t really see how an umpire could have missed that particular call, especially a decision that ended the game. If it had been close I could understand but that call wasn’t close to being close.

So he goes from not being selected to do the 15th region championship game but he’s representing the 15th at the State Tournament. The whole process is a joke. They’re not selected based on their ability. They’re selected because it’s their turn. It’s like this in every sport in a lot of different regions especially in the 15th. Don’t hold your breath because nothing will be done. It sounds like the entire tournament is filled with it’s my turn officials.

Did anyone see the Spencer County and JC game? The home plate umpire shrunk his strike zone after the 2nd inning and at one point lost track of count on a batter and gave him another chance when he struck out. Then he threw the coach out when he complained about it. Even the media covering the game was talking about how bad the entire crew was. Do you know what his punishment was? After that game he also worked the Trinity/Taylor game and the Spencer County/PRP game. There’s no accountability at all with bad officials but yet everyone else should show patience with them.
