Whoever wins the 15th opens with a tough round & then it gets very tough if they advance.
16th opens extremely tough with what figures to be Mason Co.
13th & 14 th going head to head in opening roud.
Very interesting & very tough for the eastern ky teams

I don't think the 7th region is as strong as usual. Valley beat Male earlier in the year. I don't think the 15th should be afraid of this draw this season. Winnable game. I think the winner of the 11th region is your state champ this year.

Tough draw for the 15th and 16th and best draw possible for the 13-14th regions.

Well, that sucks. But I guess if you're going to win in you have to play them sometime.

Nice draw for the 14th!

Tough draw for 15th, but the opening game can be won. Shelby Valley beat Male and only loss by 5 to Jeffersontown (even after T. Newsome was injured). So it isnt impossible.

Newsome is back for Valley, isn't he?

Nope, Taylor is out for the season, tore all kinds of stuff in his knee and had to have surgury.

Negative, next year.

All right, thanks. I had heard his name in a box score recently and I was confused because I was informed that he had ripped his knee apart and was out for the rest of the year. A win from the 15th region this year is not completely infathomable but it will be tough. You are talking about a Louisville region. Yes, Shelby Valley did upset Male earlier in the year but Male is rated #5 in that region. #5! Besides, how do we know that Shelby Valley will even be the 15th region's representative? Pikeville has proven that they're not invincible and they have yet to play Paintsville. It's not impossible this year unlike other years but it is improbable considering the difference in talent. I do look forward to a Mason Co./Elliott Co. matchup in the first round though.

Valley has a Tyler Newsome, thats who your probably talkin bout. But no one said Valley would be the representitive of the 15th, i was saying they showed that the 15th can beat the Louisville teams. And lets not get started about SV playing Pikeville.

All righty. That's probably who it was. Thank you very much. In regards to Pikeville and Shelby Valley, I was talking about the All "A" Classic game. Shelby Valley is no longer invincible because of that game but Valley got them back and got them good. They've finally figured out how to play against Pikeville and I don't expect the Panthers to give them much more competition anymore because the Wildcats are an extremely intelligent team so they won't forget exactly what they did to stomp Pikeville. And oh yeah, they can definitely do it but I wouldn't count on it.

Very tough draw for the 15th. Valley and Paintsville are probably the only teams in this region that can compete with teams from Louisville, but the state tournament is a different story from any regular season game.

Male isn't the 5th ranked team in the 7th Region... They are listed that way on the KHSAA scoreboard because they have the 5th highest number of wins. They also have the lowest numbers of losses.

Tough draw for the 15th and 16th.

Tough draw for the 15th. No matter who comes out of the 7th region they will be tough for anyone to beat. The 7th is one of the top 3 regions in Ky year in and year out.
13th - 14th, I hate to see two mountain regions play in the 1st round. It takes away from the tournament for me personally. I like to rout for all the mountain teams and when they play each other you can't.
16th -10th, IMO Elliot will come out of the 16th and they have a tough draw in the 1st round of the Sweet 16. I think either Mason or Montgomery will come out of the 10th.

15th region got a bad draw, actually so did a lot of regions, looks like if mason county can win the 10th, they will walk into the championship game, great draw for mason co, they could not have asked for better, both louisville (6th, 7th) the lexington/richmond/scott co region (11th) and the northern ky (9th) all in the other half of the bracket, but you never know come sweet 16 time, anyone can win any game, but only great teams win state championships, the cream will rise and I would go as far to say that mason co will play covington holmes/bryan station winner in the championship

15th got a tough draw, but I think Paintsville will play with any team from the 7th region if they make it.

I agree.

Yeah the 15th didn't get the best of draws thats for sure, but if your the 13th and 14th you couldn't have gotten one any better than that. Should be like always an awesome State Tournament and I can't wait!

According to Dave Cantrall's ratings, they are. The Courier Journal had them 6th last week as well. I follow the stats heavily so when I use a statistic in a post, you can trust me.
