I play J.V. running back most of the time. Thats how they know I am a good back.

#1 football fan Wrote:some of the players that are being overlooked are the players that will be returning on offense such as possum#20 he is a good running back and plays good aggressive defense then ward#18 as a running back. these two players have worked hard this year and really improved. wes will be returning and so will tyler brewer. jessie rose etc, these players will step up fill the shoes of the departing seniors. What! #18 has never, nor will he ever be a RB. His best position is WR. He catches real well. He knows the routes as good as anybody.

Possom is as tough, if not tougher than anyone on that field. He is smaller but he makes up for it with heart and determination and make no mistake....he is NOT afraid to hit ANYONE! He will continue to improve because he is respectful, willing and eager to learn more about the game.

I like Powell to win...44-18. We will see if Powell County football has finally turned the corner.

I have also coached for some time. #20 is a good player but sometimes when things don't go his way, he tends to whine a bit. This coming from a person that really likes #20. He seems to have a great love for the game & has a heart as big as the sun. He needs to be a team player and not get "mad" when he don't get the ball. When the coaches get on to him, he starts with those excuses. That is the only thing I don't like about his game. If he gets a bit bigger, he will probably see plenty of time on Defense. Looks like the RB spot will be filled with #45. He is a downhill runner. Barring a significant injury, he will be the future RB. Neither will be the feature back. The whole backfield will be returning. Rose, Brewer, Hardy, & Wasson. WR is pretty deep too. Branham, Hardy, Pelfry, Ward, & some upcoming freshmen may see some time. Work on defense. That seems to be the spot to fill in.

I never once said that he wasn't tough. I just said that he don't play alot of varisty enough to determine whether he was a good back or not. And J.V. is alot different than playing varsity.

This is a Powell/ Berea thread. IF YOU WANT TO DISCUSS MARSUPIALS
Go to the National Geographic web site. Powell BETTER not overlook Berea.
Berea has played sub-par teams and does boast an 8-1 record from that.
But Powell's offense cannot spot the 21 points as they did last year either.
Powell's defense cannot play soft like they did against Estill, Bath, H.C.C and Breathitt. Powell has played a tougher district schedule and that should give them the edge in this one. But this is a game that better not be overlooked Berea has some speed.

Powell cannot afford to make mistakes and give it away like they did last season. I hope Powell wins and gets the first winning season ever. Alof of good kids over there and I wish them the best of luck.

From what I have saw, Powell isn't going in overlooking Berea. The defense will do fine containg the backs for Berea. Their offense isn't going to spot them any points. Powell should get their first winning season this game. Good luck!!!

You are speaking of individual accomplishments. It does not matter if 2 or 3 individuals have a big game but still lose. It takes a TEAM effort to get the win.
There is no I in TEAM. If Powell gives a TEAM EFFORT they can beat Berea.
Individual efforts don't win games, It takes 11 doing their job. Powell can win but it's going to take a TEAM EFFORT not an indiviual effort.
