Somerset vs. Knox Central (Aug. 21)

IV Pioneer Bowl @ Knox Central

Probably one of the better matchups in Week 1 around the state.

Somerset took some lumps last year but return nearly everyone. They will be one of the Top 10 teams in 3A. Knox Central can't help but wonder how far they would have went in the 4A playoffs if not for Bell County. The Panthers return alot of experience including a loaded backfield and will be one of the Top 10 teams in 4A.

Predictions? Thoughts?

Somerset's defense was suspect last season and I'll think they'll struggle again this season on that side of the ball again. I'll take Knox Central by 2-3 touchdowns.

Somerset will not be able to slow down The KC run game. KC will run through them like a D6 dozer through a briar patch.

This game will not be close and if it is, it could be along season for the Panthers.

I'll take the Panthers. I think Somerset will have a tough start to the season in '09 with Coach Cobb resigning.
