This was actually a game Spencer County had control of and East Jessamine battled back into. Spencer was up 14-0 and driving, but turned the ball over. EJHS responded with a nice drive and then a trick play for a 2 point conversion to make it 14-8. The lead was swapped back and forth a couple of times.

EJHS's started trying to kick PATs and missed them. SCHS has a solid kicker and once they scored with about 2:00 to play, their PAT was good to take the lead. EJHS's last drive started at their own 45 or so? They were unable to get a first down and Spencer was able to run out the clock.

EJHS has 2 really good backs (#1 & #2). #1 may have gotten hurt on a kickoff return? #2 had a great night. He ran and ran and ran - very tough player.

To be honest, the 2 teams were very similar in a lot of ways.

Spencer County returns more players than any other team in their district along with the district "Player of the Year" and the C-J picked SCHS to finish last? Should teach some folks to not always believe what you read in those predictions!

Great win for Spencer County, I agree. EJHS was a quality foe and will definitely win some ball games this year though.
