Ryle 20 Highlands 13 Freshman
#1
The Raiders defeated the traveling Birds on their home field.

Ryle led 7-0 after 1st qtr on a strong power running game led by Travis Pavy and #24 Tanner Felipe. The Birds had the ball most of the 2nd qtr on the strong running and passing of the best player on the field QB Donovan McCoy. He called his own number on a 7 yrd scamper for a TD and 2 pt conversion failed. With 1:00 left in the half the Birds kicked it deep for some reason and Tanner Felipe took it to the house about 85 yrds. That was huge taking a 13 to 6 lead instead of 7 to 6 into halftime.

Birds took a very nice drive to start 2nd half dowb to the Ryle 25 yrd line and fumbled it to the Raiders stalling tghat drive. Ryle then put together a very nice 70 yrd drive highlighted by a huge 3rd and 8 pass reception for a 1st down. Travis Pavy finished off the drive with a 6 yrd run.
The Birds put a nice 2 min scoring drive that started with a 40 yed throw and catch from McCoy to 6'4 215 8th grade TE Nick True. Collinsworth capped it off with a 5 yrd run for a TD. The Bird Defense bent but didn't break on Ryles next posession. Ryle used a very strong power game to eat up some clock but they couldn't convert on 3rd and 2 from the Bird 18 yrd line as well as 4th down. They came up inches short and Birds took over with 2:20 left ball on own 18. They drove down to the Ryle 28 yrd line . Huge play was a 35 yrd gain on a TB pass from Collinsworth to Luke Turner. Clock ticked down to 40 seconds and Birds couldn't convert on 4th down as Mccoys pass was intercepted at the 2 yrd ine. Ryle took a knee and a final.

The Ryle RB #24 is Tanner Pulice and it must be pronounced (Po-leech-ey). I didn't have a program and the PA guy sounded like he was saying Felipe.

He is very fast and already has nice size as does Pavy. It will be very interesting to see these two combine with Travis Elliott, soph) this year who is already getting Division 1 looks. They run that power I backfield so we could see allof them in the backfield at one point in the future.

I have heard that the Ryle Frosh class is very talented. Congrats on a very nice win.
