AT&T has informed SYKES that they are pulling out of Perry County's call center.
AT&T was the biggest money maker out of the 2 clients they service in Perry County so it could mean bad news for others employed by the Bank of America client.
Make sure to throw up some Prayers and any potential job leads to me and Ballers....
Both of us were informed today that we will lose our jobs in the coming months.

I am sorry to hear this news but not surprised. Just this week, I traveled from DC to Charlotte for an interview, then to Kentucky for a day of rest, and on to Bowie, Maryland for an interview this morning, and back home to northern Virginia this evening for a phone interview for a job in Akron.
There are good job openings in this country for a person who sees relocation as an adventure but if you live in an area with a high unemployment rate and want to stay in the same area, it is often tough to find work.
For young single people who are willing to move and who have friends (potential roommates) interested in doing so, I recommend that you consider the DC area. Housing costs are high, which is where the roommates come into play, but jobs are plentiful compared to most other parts of the country and if you live and work near Metro stations getting around the DC Metro area is a breeze.

^I would move in a heartbeat if I wasn't married and my wife currently in college.
For now I'm going to have to fight for a job around here.

My advice to anybody who expects to be unemployed is to do everything possible to find a new job while they are still employed, and if that is not possible, then make job hunting a full time job.

Employers strongly prefer hiring people who are already employed and the longer somebody is jobless, the tougher it becomes to convince potential employers that they are worth hiring. It's not fair but it is human nature to want new employees who somebody else has already hired.

You are exactly right Hoot. Its easier to find a job while you have a job.
