Spencer County 55, Atherton 7: The Bears (2-5, 1-1 4-A District Three) jumped to a 21-0 first-quarter lead and went on to thump the host Rebels (0-7, 0-2).

Spencer County controlled the game by rushing for 301 of its 356 total yards. Chase Smith led the way with 132 rushing yards on six carries for a rushing touchdown and caught a 44-yard scoring pass from Trent Holbrook.

Atherton lost six fumbles. Nick Willard scored the Rebels’ touchdown on a 30-yard pass in the second quarter.
