Chevrolet or Ford
#1
Which company is better?
#2
I've owned them all at one time or another. At one time I bought a new vehicle every year. My personal opinion is as far as quality goes, I would give give the edge to Ford. My Chevy's at the time had better luxury's, but currently Ford gets the edge again. Personally I give Ford the edge on looks also. As far as body and paint the edge goes to Chevy. I am speaking on trucks only. Dodge ranked last in my book, left a bad taste that will take awhile to get over. If was to buy new right now, it would be a 2012 F150 lariat with ecoboost. After rereading your ?, I believe Ford is the better company, by just not taking a bailout and surviving the storm on their own.

Chevy by far.
Especially in trucks.

All I've ever owned have been Fords. They can't be beat in my opinion.

Chevy.

Sadly I don't own either. We are a Hummer/Jeep family right now.

One of my kids has a newer F150 and loves it. His wife has a new Impala and loves it. My middle son has a Ranger and he likes it but he's 16 and it rolls. LOL

I have had an Explorer, Expedition, Mustang and Ranger over the past 5 years and they all were pretty decent vehicles. The exploer and Expedition both had well over 175,000 on the clock and the Ranger had 130,000+ when I got rid of them and no major problems with any of them except for the new Mustang. It was HORRIBLE.

I am on my 3rd Ford in 15 years....so far pretty dependable car company if you do not mind some engineering issues.

Haven't had much luck with Chevy products.

IMO....Ford is better

Past 20 years, new Ford Ranger, new Ford Explorer, new Ford F150. I guess that means I'm a ford man!

I've owned one Ford and let me tell you, you can;t beat a Ford..
Ever since then I have owned Chevy's and they have just given me problems..
My next purchase will definitely be a Ford.

In cars and suv's, i think its too close to call.
But Ford trucks cannot do the work that a Chevy truck can nor will it last nearly as long.
The old 350 GM motor they put in all of these 90 model chevy trucks is the biggest reason Chevy is the best. That may be the most dependable moto of all time and best motor as so many of those engines have 200000+ miles on them, hell Dad had one back when i was younger that he finally traded in with 319,000 miles on it.
You just cant beat em.

When it comes to trucks, I only buy Dodge, but not because I'm a Dodge fan, I'm a Cummins fan. When I buy trucks, I only buy diesels.

Personally I like the F250 Ford with the International diesel over either the Cummins or the Duramax. Have you ever tried one of them?

The chevys with the duramax and allison transmissions are pretty dang good trucks.

No, I haven't tried one Bob. My dad liked the Ford's also. But, now Ford has it's own diesel, and people tell me they have been having trouble out of it. Cummins engines are almost bullet proof, although a little weaker than the others. My 6.7 has 650 lb/TQ though, which is more than enough. I pull a 12,000 pound trailer(13-14,000 when the bikes are in it), and have never had one ounce of trouble out of my 3 that I have had.

Dodge has their version of the Allison in their HD trucks now.

My dad had a 2009 f250, my sister ended up buying it. It is a very nice truck. It had the 6.4, which I have no clue is International or not. My father in law has one of the older 7.3's, and it's a tank. When I first bought Dodge's, I looked at Ford's and Chevy's, but they were about 6-7 thousand higher than Dodge, and I liked Cummins, so I went that route instead. You know how that goes, once you get started on a product, it's hard to switch, unless you have a bad experience.
