What a game!!! The Jackets were down three starters and they lost one more really good one in the first half. The jackets started the game with a 14-0 run, but Oneida scored 17 points in the last 6:00 of the second half. The jackets had two costly turnover(one in the red zone), and had a lot of trouble on special teams. The second half was a defensive battle. The Jackets completed a pass at the end of the ball game that ended inside the one yard line. Oneida had a lot of size and could run inside very well. They also had a couple of speed guys who could fly. I thought Williamsburg played there tales off to play with a very good team short handed. They had a chance to win the game, but came up a little short. The Jackets now have to get healthy.

Who are the players out for the jackets? Good to hear how they still stepped up and battled. :1:

Two starting Defensive/Offensive lineman, a FB/DB/LB, and a WR/LB. All of the kids are starters. I really do not like to talk about kids by name on here unless it is to praise them for their play.

I called this one.
However, Wburg will not lose another game in the regular season and IMO, wont have to worry about losing another one until they meet Hazard in the regional final.

After seeing a Lexington Christian team that was lucky to beat Harlan beat Hazard this week, Williamsburg might be the regional favorite.

Were the Jackets in FG range on the last play?

Im still kind of shocked to see how Hazard we beaten tonight.
Wburg might be in Bowling Green this year.

They do not have a kicker ... so that doesn't matter like they said with less then a second got the ball to the 1 yard line it looked but just ended up a little short. After losing the beast D line man and maybe the best O line men at half time it looked like the game was about to get out of hand but they stepped up and played their hearts out ... like previously noted once we get 4 starters healed up it should be at the end of the year something special to watch.

It would have been around a 50 yard field goal on the road. With Williamsburg's recievers you will take the chance with the big play. It was a great last play, but the safety from Oneida just made a great play to keep the reciever out. The biggest weakness of Williamsburg's team is its inability to kick FG's. This may hurt them in the playoffs.

Thanks BDC. 50 yard FG is not any high school range. Good luck to the Jackets the rest of the season. Hope to be watching them in BG.

The last play came from to far out to kick a field goal even if the burg had a kicker, The pass covered about 30 yards and, it wasen't stopped on the 1 yard line it was closer to the six inch line Skylar was in the air and was hit in the air and came straight down six inches short. It was a good placement Skylor could not have gotten another inch.

Williamsburg has a kicker who will be ready for the next game he has had some elgibility problems, I THINK

Yeah I hear they do have a kicker on the sideline anxious to see what he can do.

I thought when Helton went out that the O and D lines would suffer but that didn't happen. I'm proud of the way the rest of the linemen stepped up, especially Sawyers. Jeffers and Loy were as reliable and tough as ever. I don't remember the O line giving up a sack all game. The Dunn kid started on the D-line for the first time this year and did well and he's only a freshman or sophomore. Logan Hamblin and Rose-Creekmore played well on defense too.

I thought the officials called a good game. They missed some calls both ways but really didn't affect the outcome.

According to http://www.coacht.com, Oneida is ranked #3 in Tennesse in AA. For the Jackets to lose the game by 6 inches AT Oneida, yes, it's still a loss, but the Jackets, especially the freshmen and sophomores, will probably learn more from this game than any other they've played this year.

Allen Central is struggling this year and shouldn't be too tough a test for the Jackets. Then the Jackets are off the following Friday. It should give them a chance to recover from injuries and get everybody healthy and back in action.

The Jackets last test may be at Oliver Springs, Tn. the last game of the regular season. OS has only won one game so far this year, so who knows how good they are. We should get a good idea when they play Oneida on October 5th.

Loy didn't play. Sawyers changed numbers and went back to the trenches. He showed he will do what is necessary to help the team. Dunn stepped up and showed he can play.

Loy did not play in this game either.

Loy and Helton need to get healthy for Williamsburg to continue to have success. Everybody gets caught up in Williamsburg's skill people but they are very good up front. Oneida was the first game this year they did not dominate up front. Oneida was a big part of that in they were huge and well coached. It is amazing how well Sizemore and the rest of the offense played without both their tackles. Oneida was able to run a monster fullback behind their line and keep Williamsburg's O off the field. Very well coached and their special teams were the difference. 40 yard field goal to end half was the margin.
