How do we bring jobs back to America?

TheRealThing Wrote:Vitriol, now there's an interesting word. It describes a chemical compound or metal sulfate, salt if you will. Salt has a preserving effect and the truth has an exposing effect. I am guilty as charged.

PS Mushrooms like it in the dark but, even the looniest liberal should have shown at least a mild curiosity with an unknown bill (none other than the ACA) that purported to take up at least one sixth of the entire US economy. Only the true believers bought into that one.

"did you cry in church today, and act all humble?" said the King of mischaracterization. My post was in the spirit in which I defined it and I used your own word 'Du-Jour' to that end. I don't hate liberals, and yet, I certainly don't agree with their anti-logic and willingness to whitewash their true intent with the milk of human kindness either. Over the course of the past 20 years especially, I have heard the mischaracterizations over and over ad-nauseum. I saw the planting of the seed of suggestion, when folks like Dan Rather began to say things like "the American people want thus and so". Back in those days people completely trusted the prime time news anchors but, that kind of thing when said by those anchors always bothered me. It certainly was not what I wanted, then or now. Nowadays the Rangels and the Pelosies of this world feel confident to go out and say stuff like this with a straight face; "WASHINGTON, DC - Nancy Pelosi went on all the news shows to make a proclamation: the world will end on August 2nd! “What we’re trying to do is save the world from the Republican budget. We’re (dems) trying to save life on this planet as we know it today.”

Well gee, thanks there Nancy but I'd as soon think and vote for myself if it's all the same to you. I even heard Obama make a point the other day about this kind of thing. Speaking of the fact that the people sent 'elected representatives' to DC to get something done. Excuse me sir but, did not Kentucky and every other state send republicans to DC as well as democrats? Why do you feel justified in your vilifying, character assassinations and daily diatribe of blame aimed exclusively at all republicans living or dead? I am a working man and I don't want ObamaCare. Nor do I in any way subscribe to Obama's ideas of what it means to be an American. I mean, we beat back the Soviet Union's best shot during the Cold War, only to see the liberals virtually sign Nikita Khruschevs' wildest dreams into American law under the auspices of an American President, no less.

Yeah, I'm all tapped out on letting folks like you define the clear intentions of my posts. You want to spend your days tethered to the short leash of DNC talking points that's fine by me. And, what a genius of a DNC Chair, in the person of Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. Confusednicker:

Well, even though your statement is either an outright lie or whether you just don't have a clue of what you're talking about, when it comes to me, as usual you're wrong. We both know it's really all you got though, the typical personal slams and insults is by far your very best. You rarely venture out and actually make a case for what you say you believe. And like I said, your bias drives your hatred and in this case your desire to protect a much needed ally. Most don't come out swinging like he did but, at least we know where he is coming from. Why don't you let him speak for himself? And excuse me for noticing but, are you not a white boy, mountain dwelling pipe fitter wasp yourself? :dudecomeon:

Actually wasp means people deriving from the highly privileged British Elite. But, since I know you couldn't possibly be thinking I am from British aristocracy I know it was meant as a racist slam. But, we can finally mark this day when we agree totally on something you have posted. I bolded it for your convenience.

White Anglo Saxon Protestant.

White Anglo-Saxon Protestant (WASP) is an informal term, sometimes derogatory or disparaging,[1] for a closed group of high-status Americans mostly of English Protestant ancestry. The term implies the group controls disproportionate social and financial power.[2] The term WASP does not describe every Protestant of English background, but rather a small restricted group whose family wealth and elite connections allow them a degree of privilege held by few others.[3]

But, that wasn't the wasp I was referring to. I was meaning the mean little pesky ass kind. Kind of like yourself.

No, I schooled you because I knew you would bring that point up. I say what I mean. I'll let you know when you know what I mean. Anybody that is a Doors fan knows what a WASP is. Any fool knows what a wasp is. But, if it makes you feel good to think you got me, have at it. LOL.

:hilarious: Say what? Even if the term wasp was not outdated by 5 or 6 decades, you've still taken so much back water on here the suez couldn't drain it all off in your lifetime. And, as far as feeling good goes, unlike you, my sources come from voices OUTSIDE of my own head. Therefore the feedback I receive is legitimate.

by the way lowering energy cost goes a long way in bring jobs to the United States. Many European companies are looking and setting up factories here because of the lower cost of energy

Mark DC Wrote:Fairtax sounds great -- but I've seen a lot in the fine print that causes me concern.

We need a new tax code, that is for sure, and I've been pushing for an entirely new tax code for 30 years. To punish those who do the hard work and risk all in a business, while giving absurd loopholes to others is horrible. We aren't even told about most of the loopholes, they are written by lobbyist sometimes for individual people.

But Fairtax? No thank you. Sounded great, but read the fine print a bit closer.
solution?
Would a graduated fair tax based on income be better?

Mark DC Wrote:I agree with much of what you said -- we are not only shipping jobs oversees, we are giving huge tax breaks to those who do, even if you don't realize it.

Not sure if anyone else noticed, but remember that video of Gov Romney giving that speech to 50,000 per plate fund raiser? He spoke of a factory he bought for Bain Capital in China. This was not some bad reporter trying to make it look bad, he was describing the factory himself. It was a live in factory -almost all young women he said, they LIVED in the factory. They had guard towers -- remember he said this! They had 12 girls to a tiny room, one bathroom per floor, and they were paid a "pittance". Keep in mind now, this is what HE said of the factory he was buying! The news talked a lot about the 47%, but he was basically right about that, in a way.

The news didn't even mention his comments about the factory he bought -- how much did he make? Did he pay taxes on that? Did he know the names of any girls that worked in that factory? Did he shut down one of his factories here to give more work to his huge live in factories there?

I think those were legit questions for a guy who was going to transform the economy.

Andi more -- given the overpopulation in much of the 3rd world -- why can't we have import laws that prevent these jobs going overseas? I know it's not a simple thing, I know it's more complicated. But I'd like to see living wages and benefits for everyone who works hard and obeys the rules. And if people want to get rich buying factories with guards and barb wire where the workers live, and get paid a "pittance" according to the guy that owns the factory, fine.

Just get it out in the open is all Om saying
Do you believe in capitalism?

Haven't read anyone's posts in this thread (other than the one above LOL, welcome back RV), but with this administration, we don't. Probably the same goes for Hillary 2016 which seems to be inevitable more and more every day.

There is no doubt that Hillary will be running in 2016 but she is far from an inevitable candidate. She has always had a likability problem and even with the obvious face work that she had done while she was recovering from her "concussion," she will be an unattractive old lady running against a younger, more energetic Republican candidate. She will also be saddled with Obama's pitiful economic record, as well as a couple of years of the full impact of Obamacare. It might be easy for her if liberal Democrats get all the undocumented Democrats in the country eligible to vote in 2016, but otherwise it will be a difficult race for her,

I don't know, Hoot. Hilary will be hard to beat. I will guarantee you that. I'm almost ready to accept it as the greater likelihood. The Huckabee report has admitted it as well. It's truly scary where this nation is headed.

I don't think a younger, more energetic Republican candidate is gonna do it. Sean Hannity was even talking about it a couple of months back. It's going to take a serious game-changer to get the ball back into the Republican court.

I came to the point about a couple of days before the election where I thought "hey, Romney is going to take down that airhead in office", but he didn't and it wasn't nearly as close as it had first looked and I thought it would be. I really thought Romney had what it took. He had a hell of a campaign and said the right things. He lit Obama up in every debate pointing out his pathetic record, his failure to create a budget, and the idiocy in which he has ran this nation. He connected with the social media splendidly. He had an outstanding and extremely sharp running mate in Paul Ryan. And he STILL couldn't get it done (because of the minority vote, which is a story for a different day).

Like I said, it's a scary time to be an American if you really pay attention to what goes on.
