It will be good to move on to district play next week. This Laker team has only had one test all season, and hopefully we will see a bit more challenge over the next few games. I fear that the schedule is going to come back and haunt us, because even the bad plays can look successful against weaker competition. Would have loved to see Wayne back on the schedule this year.

Russell County will be just fine. Last night, though, vs. LaRue they literally played a JV team in terms of age. LaRue County started only 3 seniors and 14 freshmen/sophomores out of the remaining 19 positions. They started 9 of those freshmen and sophomores on defense alone.

I've seen Russell County in person this year and they are a very big, strong, physcical and have great speed to go along with it.

Will they get past Boyle or LexCath this year? Who knows. A lot of people don't. But, they have a very, very good football team.

I just don't see that happen, both Boyle and Lex Cath are heads above Russell and Knox. I love my panthers but I don't see them or the lakers getting past the 2nd round of playoffs again this year. It would be wonderful if either of them do but I just don't see it.

I think the gap has closed a bit this year. Russell County's defense is much improved over the past two seasons. Our line is bigger and stronger, and hopefully we remember the lessons learned during last years game with Boyle.

I really liked the defense when we had 51,50, and 68 all on the D line plus 31 and 71 at D-ends. Against the run oriented offenses we will face in district I think it could be very effective defense.

I want to wait and see how your panthers come along. Don't really think you guys have exactly put it together yet but if you do then who knows what y'all can do. I still feel our lakers are very competitive, however the second half of the Pulaski game gave me reason to question and be concerned. The boys somewhat quit instead of digging in and I didn't like the body language at all. Want to see us get punched in the mouth and then dig deep and get tougher. I don't always agree with playing that tough schedule if a team isn't deep. Injuries and attrition would destroy our chances . And no doubt, the better teams one plays than the more injuries one sustains.
