Winner goes to playoffs. . Watched both play I would have to give the edge to Clay. Should be a pretty good game. Guess we will see who wants it more in this one.

The battle of the beatens. This one comes down to who has the kids the most mentally focused in the midst of a terrible season.

Hopefully Clay has their QB back for this one. If so I will go....
Clay 42
Russell 28
Without QB
Clay 28
Russell 27
Hope they miss the PAT...hehe. Good luck to both teams.

I actually think Russell completely lats an egg and ends up losing by 3 or 4 scores.
I've heard a lot of people in that area say that a lot of the kids are frustrated, rightfully so, but that they are ready to hang it up for the season and try to give it a go next year.

Big question in games like these is motivation and who has it? Winner goes to Mercer County loser gets ready for Senior Night......I like Clay County to win at home!

Clay County has finally posted some stats for the month of October, I've thought for the last few weeks they were ready to mail it in. If you can't get up to play an 0-8 team when wins are as scarce as they are then you need to be playing something else. Clay County and the Titans in the first round. Russell shouldn't waste the diesel to get over here. Clay County just has no offense or defense but neither does Russell, the winner of this game wont come down to who plays the best but who doesnt play worse than their opponent. I'm going to say Clay recovers a muffed punt inside the 10 and stumbles in one play later for a 6-0 victory with no time on the clock.

If I have heard correctly Clay's QB will be back Friday night.

Wayne Jv beat the Russell Jv 18-6 about a month ago.
After playing both I think Clay holds the edge especially in Manchester. 28-7

If Sexton is back, I'll give the edge to Clay County 33-12. If not, Clay County 20-12.
I feel as though if he is healthy, he is a good enough athlete and upperclassmen to make the difference. I'm still going for Clay County with 3 wins at the end of the regular season if Will is good to go. It is difficult for any team to play well with all of the Tigers' missing pieces, especially when you were stumbling to start with. At the beginning of the year, many said 3 wins would be an accomplishment and that's what I'm going for. End the year on a somewhat positive note and hope several of the younger players develop with skill and physicality in the offseason. I know we keep saying the future looks to be in better hands but I really believe that is true. They seem to have some quality freshmen and a really good middle school team. The truth of the matter is, it has been about 5 years since Clay County has had legitimate football talent as a whole. You can't win football games with 2-3 athletes and not much else.

I just really cant wrap my mind around how bad Russell County is and has been the past couple years. They have went from being a really solid football team to falling off the map. Sad News for football fans in Russell County.

We know how you feel here in Tiger Country, we've been young since the 2010 class has graduated.
