South Carolina 48 Arkansas 22
#1
Arkansas football was dealt a big blow in the SEC with the road loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks. This one was close in the first half, but the Gamecocks pulled away in the third quarter to take control of the game. South Carolina won by a final score of 48-22.

Both teams really needed a win to keep hopes alive in their respective divisions in the SEC. Arkansas could have used a win to help hopes in the SEC West after a heartbreaking loss to the Texas A&M Aggies in the conference opener two weeks ago. The Hogs looked to be getting back on track against the New Mexico State Aggies last week in a big victory. However, that proved to be wrong this week.

Meanwhile, South Carolina lost by seven points to Texas A&M as well (same as Arkansas). After losses to the Kentucky Wildcats and Texas A&M, the South Carolina hopes in the SEC East are pretty much gone. They’re just fighting for momentum for next year and a good bowl game.

South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp has done an impressive job with this program since the retirement of legendary coach Steve Spurrier, which left the Gamecocks in pieces. However, Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema is not looking so good with the Hogs right now.

Williams-Brice Stadium was rocking all game, helping the Gamecocks with the edge of home field advantage. The Hogs have struggled against any Power Five competition this year. Arkansas is now 0-3 against Power Five teams.

Didn't know a Muschamp team could score this many points.
