Best summer basketball tournament is at Collins/Shelby county, numerous sweet sixteen teams compete every summer. Same weekend, admission cheaper, better officiating and better competition. Go check it out, if you are a basketball person Saturday is great!!

Just to clarify as appears media has conflicting reports....the Boys HS Tournament is NOT canceled or postponed. There are some KBA leagues (e.g. corporate, mens, etc. that are being postponed I think). The High School Tournament is being played this week starting Thursday evening. It will be played at a variety of High Schools just like the Girls was last week). Pretty decent sized tournament with 16 JV and 23 Varsity teams. Teams playing include:

Floyd County Central
GRC
Clinton County
Newport
Mason County
LCA
Harlan County
Bath County
Johnson Central
Middlesboro
Frederick Douglass 1
Frederick Douglass 2
Dunbar
Seneca
Holy Cross - Covington
East Jessamine
Harlan Independent
Tates Creek
Western
Thomas Nelson
Scott Co - Red
Scott Co - Blue
Bell Co
Lex Cath (Fresh and JV Only)

The Girls KBA Tourney this past week was almost laughable. Scoreboards not working so they had timekeepers "YELLING" out the scores and time remaining, games not on time, last second venue changes, lots of confusion, and very low attendance. Very disappointing but its summer basketball right? and its KBA so par for course.. Hope Boys tourney is better.
