Shelby Valley 49 Martin Co. 36
#1
Both teams combined for 51 points scored in the 3rd quarter alone.

Shelby Valley's offense keeps getting better and better each week with the freshman QB.

Wow, what a game!

I expected both offenses to put up points, but I didn't expect this. It seemed at one point that the game would come down to whoever had the ball last. I would be interested in some end-of-game stats if anyone has any.

Valley controlled the game for most of the first half, but a late score allowed Martin to cut the lead to 22-12 at the half. Then a couple quick scores out of the gate put the Cards in the lead again, 28-22. After the teams exchanged TD's again, Valley proceeded to score the next 20 points to take a 49-36 lead. After that, both offenses moved the ball but neither could finish drives off with points. In the end, SV stopped Martin on 4th-and-long from about the 20, and that was the ballgame.

Most likely this game decided the #2 seed for playoffs. Which means these two teams will meet again ay Valley on the 2nd weekend in November. I expect another great game between these two evenly matched teams.

Really surprised Shelby Valley gave up 36 points to that Martin County offense. Definitely not the last meeting of the season for these two programs.
