Is Letcher Central Underrated?
#1
just tell me
#2
No.
#3
Well people were calling for the end of their team then they come out and win by 40+ points. Seems like they are not as bad as people think.
#4
That doesn't tell me because 1 says no and 1 says yes. It just had me wondering because you hear all this talk about Belfry, Prestonsburg and all of these big school that go real far. If they go far they should be considered as a great team but you take a look at LCC's freshman and JV. In the past 2 seasons the freshman has only lost 3 games. The JV has only lost like 3 games. By next year I think LCC can be a power house because the team started 4 sophomores and 3 juniors all on defense. On offense they only start 3 underclassmen. The future is when LCC is going to be good. sorry about getting off subject but it was on my mind.....

I'll be blount and honest...

LCC is rated right where they need to be. They lost badly to Hazard on their homefield and beat two sub-par teams. Until they beat a quality opponent, LCC is rated right where they need to be.
#6
Trying to rank them with the Belfrys and Prestonsburgs...then no they are ranked where they need to be. They are not the worst team in the state but they are no where near the best.
#7
Thanks for the answer to that question. I know that we are not the worst team in the state and no where near the best. I was just wondering though.
#8
Naw..not really!
#9
Time will tell. PCC is not a team to measure by.
#10
No!
#11
no way!

I was one of the people who was asking several questions about the program. I am not from Letcher County, but I hear a lot of negative rhetoric coming from people there at work. I wish all mountain teams well, and Lcc is a young program and needs to have some time to build a dynasty. I just want to wish all of the players and coaches well. there was one coach who was very rude and unprofessional, but hey there are idiots at all positions and levels. I guess they have a coach that coached and played at Ohio State or Florida, since they were on a National Championship team, or were they just a glorified waterboy. As far as being compared to other mountain power houses, only time will tell. It isn't going to be achieved overnight, it takes time and the kids buying into the program, and doing all the right stuff. That's off-season work, and summer workouts. Just be patient and give the kids time. This is only their third year.

Belfry, Hazard, Breathitt County, Prestonsburg, Pikeville, Rockcastle, Bell County, and Corbin have all won state championships and ahve been competitive throughout most years, and these are a few the teams that deserve to be called powerhouses. Then when they can be competitive with St. X, Trinity, and Danville, then any team in the state can be called a powerhouse. That's why the state of Ky went to a 6 class system to make a few more schools more capable of competiting without competiting with the Private schools whom everyone knows can legally recruite without illegally being caught. But, that's another discussion.

When did Hazard, Prestonsburg, and Rockcastle County win a state championship?

I agree with you. Right now LCC is right where they should be at.

You don't know what you are talking about.

No way are they over rated or under rated. They are a team right now that has no impact or real influence. Just an observation-
Hazzbeen, I am sure you guys are coaching to the best of your ability, but for a coach to get on here and argue with what is probably a sophomore that quit after the first day in pads his freshman year puts you in the same light as Coach B from Betsy Layne. It nullifies your skill and ability and puts you in a bad light, right or wrong.
#18
were do you think they should be rated? You really cannot say they need to rated higer or lower. If they beat clay they should move up if not they will probley stay were they are.

You know HazzBeen,
I might have screwed that up, but at least I haven't lied about beating a team that I played out of State Last Year....

I happen to be looking at an article that someone from Letcher County had sent me, and it was from a Virginia newspaper....

On the KHSAA web page, it has LCC winning by 2, and in the archival paper out of Virginia, it stated clearly that LCC LOST!!!!!!

Why the lie coach?

LCC's record was 4-6, not 5-5!!!

Haysai = 28
LCC = 26
