Prestonsburg. "City-maintained" Stonecrest.  Mayor Hughes, lol.  That's a definite 3 pitch K.

D&D sports used to livestream the games as well as Mountain Top Sports

There were NO requests from any media stations to do live streaming prior to the start and none yesterday.

Rainy week for baseball. It looks like rain in the forecast for most of the week.

I'm not saying you are wrong but I am saying that's very hard to believe.

I don't want to hear anyone complain EVER again about the Expo Center and the pricing of the 15th Region Basketball Tournament. Yesterday was highway robbery.

That’s because KHSAA charges 500.00 to livestream.

What do they charge during the 15th Region basketball tournament?

Playing a region tournament on a baseball field that the drop from home to pitching mound is 6-13 inches, a mound that isn’t regulation, and a field that probably drops 6/8 foot it borderline criminal

Floyd Counth can’t get out of its own way

And the pitchers mound is squared off not round

This thread is a microcosm of Floyd Co as a whole, unfortunately.  I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

NFHS mentions specifically that the “table” of the pitching mound forms a rectangle. If you look at the verbiage and specs for the mound, it’s designed the way NFHS requires it. As for the height of it, I’m not sure. It’s definitely taller than any other mound but these were outside contractors hired to build this. You don’t hear me say this often but this is one thing that Floyd County really didn’t have a hand in.

I have zero problems with Floyd Co or Prestonburg but why were the games rained out yesterday. For sure wouldn't have been rained out at Pikeville and other some other venues in the 15th. Games were played all over the state including the 13th...again, dry as a bone in Pikeville yesterday evening...Stonecrest is okay but not every year by any stretch.

What about each team GameChanger? I know regular season teams live stream on that, but with region I’m not sure if they are allowed.

Because Stonecrest doesn't have a turf outfield yet and I'm pretty sure that was one of the guidelines they had to complete to be able to continue to host the regional tournament.  Both baseball and softball fields had to be entirely turf but they aren't yet. Not sure of when the guidelines were set for this to be done by

I was under the impression that when the tournament was granted to Prestonsburg that the first year they were to turf the infield, which is what they did, and then after that first year they had promised to turf the entirety of the field which 3 years later still hasn’t been done. Can someone clarify? Was that or was that not part of the deal to become the host?

I have no idea how much rain Stonecrest received, but appears games could have been played both North and South of there. I know Paintsville LL played on all 3 fields yesterday without the aid of tarp protection.

You are correct in the “table” part.

A level playing service and a mind are pretty easy to define. It’s in the rules. Floyd county has the 2 most extreme mounds in the region.

Floyd Central is the lowest and PBurg is the highest. On one side.

Lawrence, Paintsville, Pikeville, Johnson Central, Belfry, Floyd Central and Pikeville all have better fields that PBurg.

Just so everyone is aware, MountainTop Media is here streaming the game tonight. At least game 1.
