I understand that it is just summer ball but I was able to go watch some games at memorial gym a few weeks back.. I will say this, Powell Co is just very overrated or Hazard is very solid. Hazard beat them by 20 points and as far as I know both teams had all their players. The Johnson kid from Hazard could not be stopped in the post. I think about all of the teams in the region and if the big kids from Powell cant guard him I look for him to have a big senior season. Caudill did his usual stuff with a lot of success. Kincaid shoots it well, The Fullwood kid off the bench has turned into a solid player who will contribute. I was disappointed in how Powell played based on the hype I have heard around their team.
I think nxt season is a 2 horse race between 2 teams less than 5 miles from eachother. Bulldogs #1 Commodores #2

Of course, at this time of the year rumors run rampant in all regions, so it could possibly be false information.

Perry looks to be the best team in the 14th with a great coach. They also added to great players in Daulton Combs and Hacker from Leslie.
Powell will be in the mix by February you can count on it.
Letcher will be solid and Dangerous!
Knott, Owsley and Wolfe will be very competitive.
I just can’t see the Bulldogs being there after everything they lost last year in Al, graduates and Combs going to Perry. Caudill and Johnson can’t carry them by theirselves I don’t think. Be realistic…Who’s gonna fill them shoes?

If you look at Hazard as whole, Johnson and Caudill don’t have to carry the team. Kincaid is as good as Combs, so no loss there and the addition of Osborne and Gibson puts the dawgs right back in the driver seat.

You maybe right but only time will tell. The kids from Knott are solid players. The loss of Daulton Combs hurts because he is good….if Kincaid is that good why didn’t he play more last year? Kincaid has big shoes to fill I believe.

Kincaid is not even close to being as good as Combs. Come on you don’t believe that do you?

But it is a lot closer than people think. Combs is timid and shy in big moments.. Kincaid has 0 fear. I look for Kincaid to absolutely get in Combs' grill when they play this season. There will be some bad blood in that game You have guys who have been at Hazard the whole time like Tucker Johnson and Caudill that will want to may Combs pay for leaving them. It will be interesting.

I possibly spoke too soon about “Filling Shoes” as I didn’t see Kincaid play much last season. I was curious so I questioned some loyal dawgs in the program and they said Kincaid was the real deal and prepare for a coming out party. They said he had a huge summer and would shock the 14th this season with his tool set.

My predictions are
1 Perry
2 Hazard
3 Letcher
4 Powell
I really think its going to be close with the top 3 an imo will come down to who out coaches who Hoskins is going to be hands down one of the best to ever coach the 14th Huff is young but I think he has a lot of potential to be a great coach! I'm looking forward to basketball season!

There’s been cars bought, rents paid, kids been fostered and homed by Shannon. Prince and iggy adopted by another couple. Deandre reed and tobler living with Hoskins. You think Justin Johnson wasn’t paid to stay here after Spurlock left? James Blair was sniped from buckhorn, a Perry proud school district partner school for a vehicle that was bought by Denny Fugate. The guy they called juice was on Perry’s payroll for bringing in kids from New York and Pennsylvania area. Kizer slone was a package football deal. Had some kid supposedly from England that was a foster child. Just so happened he could dunk from the free throw line. This past season may have been the first one that Perry had in years that had true Perry kids on it and how’d that one turn out?

I mean he managed to out coach honeycutt an beat Breathitt year before last when everybody had them counted out! Hoskins coaching style seems to change with the times and thats what a good coach does! I dont want to take anything from al he has more then proven what a good coach he is but imo the game has changed an he isnt able to coach against the coaches who have changed honeycutt out coached him in the last regional tournament an al had nothing to come back at them with!

I don't have a dog in the fight. I live in the 13th. Just giving my thoughts after watching several teams this summer.
It really could go either way, especially with the top two. No one is calling the Commodores "mighty," but you don't have to be anywhere close to that in the 14th at this point. I thought Perry had the best offense and shooters when I saw them. That may be enough.

Once he gets his get wet it’ll help him and the team i’m sure but as of right now I can’t see them personally as the top team. I feel like it’s hazard in the drivers seat but could be proven wrong again. I really think a lot of people are sleeping on Wolfe county also. They return some good players with another year of growth in them. They’re not going to be an easy task for anyone.

Top two are as close as I've ever seen it. You could go either way with Perry or Hazard. I do a coaches' poll every year and it was as close as it has been in 25 years.
I thought Hazard was clearly in the "driver's seat" last year and 10-15 points better than anyone in the 14th. Not sure how you think it's going to be easy after losing six of the top nine from last year. One great player, but he's the only one back who averaged in doubled figures. Not a lot of depth either. Hazard could definitely win, but it looks really close at this point - unlike last year.

Perry is the favorite hands down with Hazard in a close second but don’t sleep on Powell they are right there too. Then on a certain night with a little luck Letcher or Wolfe or Knott could upset anyone.
The real question is can Hoskins keep his two new stars satisfied with his old team cause two kids ain’t starting that thought they were. Also, can Huff get his transfers meshed with Caudill, Johnson and Kincaid? Whichever team bonds for the big prize will be a problem in 14th!

Hazard is the favorite hands down. Unless Shannon has hit the portal hard which is a good possibility. Is Seth Caudill injured?
