Paintsville played this game very well defensively and simply got thin on pitchers....Sturgeon (great left hander) had some wicked movement on his pitches and he held paintsville at bay except for the lone run scored by corey adams off the rbi single from shane grimm...in the 1st inning
Paintsville had an outstanding tourney and rerpesented the 15th region and 57th district very well......they proved to themselves and everyone else that they can play with any team in the state
Paintsville led in 19 out of the 21 innings in which they played and led into the 5th inning of the championship game....
Excellent effort guy's I'm very proud of you.....

I agree. Any time you can beat the #3 team in the state without your ace on the mound is a really good showing and proves a lot about what your team is made of. This team will be really something to deal with come post season. It should be a dandy.

Congrats to Owensboro Cath on winning...and congrats to P-ville on getting there. It was a challenge just to get there and they proved themselves to be very good!! Best of luck to both teams in the future!

Congrats to Owensboro Cath & Cole Sturgeon(great baseball name!)
Congrats to the Paintsville Tigers and their (4) all tournament team players. Shane Grimm, Cory Humphrey, JD VanHoose, and Austin Lyons.
The All "A" Baseball Tournament was so well done by the folks @ Applebee's Stadium/Lexington Legends and the Touchstone Energy Group!
It was nice to see everyone from Paintsville (who currently live in central Kentucky) and it was nice to see the turn out of supporters on hand from home, making the trip on Derby weekend!
Annd to the Tigers, Great Job!

Sturgeon was a great pitcher in the LLWS. I would say he has only gotten better since then. Great showing by the Tigers. Congrats on advancing to the final game, guys! Good luck the rest of the season.
