Swayze died after a battle with pancreatic cancer. His doctor, Dr. George Fisher, revealed in early March 2008 that Swayze was suffering from the disease.
Swayze "passed away peacefully today with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months," his publicist, Annett Wolf, said a statement released Monday evening, according to KTLA.

I hate this too. Swayze seemed like such a good and genuine person. Married 34 years, and was everything Hollywood wasnt. Have to respect a man like that..

Swayze was one of my all time favorites..Will never forget his SNL skit with Chris Farley..Like TH32 mentioned..As genuine as a person from Hollywood can be!

This guy was truly a great actor. You never saw the negativity that usually comes with a lot of the star's today. He will be deeply missed by this ole' boy.
