Zaga wants your ideas ;)

Hey guys.
I was brought on by Examiner to cover sports in Eastern Kentucky and they got kind of upset because I didn't do anything with the baseball season.
Pretty soon the sports scene in the mountains will be dead for the summer and I'm looking for some "evergreen" article ideas to resurrect my column before they yank me off of it lol
Let me know if you guys have any ideas.
The only criteria is they have it has to be relevant to East Ky sports.

Thanks,

zaga

Over the summer talk to teams about their weightroom stuff. Over the summer high school fans LOVE to talk about who has the fastest 40, biggest bench press, etc...
#3
Talk about the socioeconomic structure in Eastern Kentucky high school football players transitioning into college via any level.
#4
Predictions maybe?

When is Harlan Co. supposed to start building there big stadium? You could talk about that.
#6

A Few Ideas:
1. Forget the ABC's, Mountain Football is All About the B's and H's.

Focus on the elite programs and coaches that involve these letters:

Haywood, Holcomb, Hilton, Howard, Braugh, Belfry, Breathitt, Bell, Hazard, and Harlan County

2. What Might Have Been

Focus on Mountain State Runner-Ups from the years gone by. Who defeated them and how the game went down. You will find some teams had great runs to lose close games to teams with great players. Highlight teams like Hazard, Somerset, and Rockcastle who have never won a title.

3. The Death of the Running Game?

As colleges and pro's have went to spread offenses so to have high school programs. Yet, Bell, Belfry, Harlan County, Whitley County, and Johnson Central continue to be Mountain Elite with their primitive ways.

SUPER Ideas! #2 would be a local award winner. If you wrote #2 I know a lot of people that would read, like me Big Grin
