Fulton County wouldn't go 3 quarters without a running clock against the top 5 from the East.
Hazard is a lot closer to Holy Cross than Holy Cross is to Beechwood or Mayfield.
Aside from all that, I think you would agree with my tier set up in another post.
Don't let the score of the LCA game think Frankfort isn't good. They didn't take a full team to LCA due to injuries and other players being out.
Frankfort is young and loaded with talent. I wouldn't say that any of the east teams are better than FHS. But I also will say that Pikeville and Fairview are very capable of beating FHS this season. I think over the last 7-8 years Frankfort has been ahead of the teams in the east.
I will agree that the east isn't as strong as the west.
Hazard - King of the East
Fairview - has done a good job of building a solid program and could be a contender.
Raceland - over they last 5 years have been solid.
Pikeville - I would agree that Pikeville hasn't lived up to the name it built in the 90's.

However, Pikeville is still a respected name and a tough game. Do not overlook this team, it seems like the coaching staff has them peaking at the right time.

In comparing similar opponent results, Phelps, Raceland, and Paintsville, the scores of the wins for Pikeville and Fairview are fairly similar. Pikeville has, I think, played a better schedule than Fairview. Opponent won-loss record for Fairview is 34-66, Pikeville is 51-58. Fairview has played 4 3A schools and 1 4A school, but those were all abysmal higher classification teams with a combined 12-37 record. I know nothing about the Grove City Christian school they played as far as class, etc. Pikeville has played 2 3A schools and 1 2A school, all with combined 15-15 win-loss record. Swain, NC is a 1A school in NC, but from what I understand, they are high 1A, which is about the equivalent of 2A here, and they are a 7 time state champ in that class, and are 10-1 this year. So overall, I think Pikeville's schedule and the fact they have remained fairly injury free this year has allowed them to get better each week and peak at the right time.
Good luck to all teams and wishes for an injury free night to all.

As Im sure you know it's about matchups not schedule, can't compare scores at all. Football is all about matchups

No mention of Williamsburg! Keep counting out the Jackets and give them something to play for.

The fulton thing was a joke they could not play with most jv teams around the state lol...... Holy cross is a threat, any way you look at them ...do i think they will beat Mayfield ..? NO but could they ..yes .. all it would take is a very bad night or a little rain ... and a four leaf clover in the back pocket of every guy on their team...

Dude do you remember the game at state last year ..... ok well if a rematch takes place ... then you can expect the same score or better... Mayfield has filled all shoes this year from the last the qb has well over a 70% completion we have carzy depth and speed just like last year and just like the next several to come .. our middle school is stacked with talent...... now im not slamming hazard and i hope for them to get better but they are not on the same level although you may be right about them haveing their best team ...

Dynasty... lol most consistantly a good team ya.... but more like a good team that capitolizes on the week years of 1A teams.. oh btw Beechwood has never beaten Mayfield When they have been good enough to compeat.... it will be yearss plural....... before the east swings it back promis unless we lose our newly alined coach staff ... but will it happen ya ..it always does..

what make you think that beechwood can beat hazard ever year. last year hazard have 5 or 6 TO in that game. just like mayfield done with LCA.

Hazard could have beat LCA by more. when hazard get up 5 TDS, they just run the ball. LCA only score on the JV team. This was the wrost lose by either team out of the 7 games.

UMM ... the fact that they are just not in the same caliber of teams.... and no i dont think hazard would had scored more than 2 td against beechwood ... they would had smoked hazard ... hazard just does not for the time being have the ability to play championship ball... if beechwood was in the same side of the state and they had to play hazard then i guesss u would know if they were better than them .... but 9 times out of 10 beechwood... or nine and a half out of 10 ... this is like talking about trinity and highlands...lol

When Hazard played Beechwood in 2008 no one was giving them any chance to compete with Beechwood but they did. Beechwood took a beaten in that game against Hazard but Beechwood knew they was there to win and not give up as Beechwood held off to win 14 to 7, Hazard only had 8 yards in the first half and if hazard possibily played a complete game could of possibly beat Beechwood. Also you cant just a team from last years results when its a new year.

No offense, because Mayfield has a very tradition-rich program, okay? But Beechwood has 11 state titles to Mayfield's 8. Saying that Beechwood only capitalizes on years when 1A is weak or down is silly. I mean, people could say that about Mayfield since their state titles are more spread out than Beechwoods' (in general). Trash talk all you want towards Beechwood, but at least show some respect towards their accomplishments. At Pikeville, we always disliked Beechwood, and had some GREAT games against them in the playoffs, but we always respected their tradition and program.

Dude do you remember year before last? LCA 55 Mayfield 19, that's the same year Hazard was a last second Touchdown pass away from beating LCA.

I doubt anyone from Mayfield will ever forget that game. I was very upset when Haz beat them last year denying the revenge I wanted to see.
Mayfield does look to have way above normal talent comming up the next few years.

well your right .... any team can choke or play their best game of there year at the best possible time..... i mean it high school football and a bunch of kids.. we base our thoughts off of a normal well played game... not a perfect one were one team plays flawless and the other chokes ...(thats never figured in) LCA vs May 2009.... Im not judging off of the 2008 year ..but i know what we have this year and thats the same caliber team, and they do nothing but get a little better for the next few years as a lot of tallent is passing through the school system So its time to make up for the 8-11 state title race that apparently we are in with the beeches..lol... and well we only have 4 more game till next year so why not start a little trash talk..lol just havin fun....

Ok .... Im not taking anything away from beechwood cause they have a awsome program. Down here they are respected as a great team too PROBLY EVEN MORE SO HERE CAUSE THEY USED TO PLAY US CLOSE IN THE TITLE GAME and WE HAVE THE GIVEN RIGHT TO TRASH TALK...CAUSE THEY HAVE NEVER BEATEN US!!.. yes they have a lot of titles but we scoot back and forth between 1a and 2a plus alot of coaching errors in the past too... but no excuses... they are a good program... and they have a chance at beating us ... but if u look back (not all of them ) at the years they added titles no one had the caliber teams that are there now .. thats all i was saying .. and yes i know may sound silly to you bhut thats what allowes teams to win titles some are better than others..lol thats all i was sayin...

And I had to laugh the hardest at your contention that they added titles during the years no one had the teams they do now. Really? What about 2005 when NCC beat y'all so bad in the finals? Beechwood beat them that year 24-21. I'm not taking away from Mayfield at all, but you are totally disregarding Beechwood's titles as little more than runs when 1A was down. It wasn't down every year, just like it hasn't been down every year that Mayfield won...or has it?
