(1) Oklahoma City Thunder vs (5) Memphis Grizzlies
#1
Western Conference Semi Finals

Thoughts?

The Thunder took a 1-0 lead in the series last night in a VERY close game that appeared to be a game that the Grizzlies were going to win until the latter part of the 4th quarter. Can OKC win this series without Westbrook? They looked shaky against the Rockets after Westbrook was out and Memphis is a much better team IMO.

I think OKC will pull it out because Durant is like a young Kobe..
He will shoot his arm off every quarter until he gets hot.
This series can go to 7 though.. Randolph will fight anyone.

OKC in 6.

This is a tough one to call. I think this will be a great series with no Westbrook in the mix.

Thunder in 7

I'm a big fan of the Grizzlies.
I thought when they traded away Rudy Gay that they were making a big mistake...
but they've proven me wrong.

The only problem is when they are in crunch time like they were against the Thunder the other night - they don't have the option of getting it to a talented wing man like Rudy and letting him go to work.

The inside game of the Grizzlies is something that the Thunder won't be able to deal with. Gasol is a lot to deal with in the paint with his size, strength and all of his euro-style moves - and you have to respect Randolph's mid-range and post play as well. If the Grizzlies can split the first two games they will win the series.

^ I agree. I also think Gasol is playing the best basketball in his years right now.
Randolph is not scared of anyone in the paint or anyone period.
I love watching the guy just talk trash to everyone, even Blake Griffin.

Ill also add, Tony Allen is soooo underrated, without him I don't think the Grizz would have much of a chance right now.
Great defender and can shoot the ball.

So with okc going down in the second round does this mean that KD isnt great? He couldnt win without Russel Westbrook? Everyone said Lebron should have been able
To win in Cleveland and got hated on alot because he didnt. I think this series proves it takes more than one player regardless of how talented the player is to win in the playoffs. Hats off to Memphis

No, you will hear no Vitral Spew regarding KD not being able to carry a team all by himself. Him, I guess no one has been able to win without two other superstars on their team. That's a pretty novel theme in the NBA, but I've never heard anyone say that
