100-0? Really? Lewis had two chances to score and was moving the ball very effectively on the drive that senior running back Austin Evans got slammed on his head after the whistle and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance at his last game for a sprained neck. In my opinion #50 should have been flagged and ejected, I don't see how that's any different from throwing a punch, there's excessive and unnecessary roughness rules in the rule book for a reason. We stopped Fairview on first and 10 from the half years line in the second quarter and the running clock didn't start until the third quarter. So no, I do not see an instance where this game is 100-0. If it wasn't for our Evans getting power bombed after the whistle we likely score on that drive and a couple more as we were moving the ball effectively on the ground. Am I saying we would have won or had the chance to win, no not at all but have some class in your statements. You have the better team, you won and good luck next week in the playoffs. Saying you all could have beat this team 100-0 does nothing for either side especially when it isn't even true. Good luck against Nicholas.

Congrats to the Eagles. Nicholas County may be a little better than I thought, but I think the Eagles, Rams, and Tigers will sweep the first round.

Way to go and end the regular season strong Westwood! I am very happy that two of the Boyd County schools were able to end the regular season with wins.

Good luck against Nicholas.1st I would like to say I did not mean to knock on Lewis in retrospect I shouldn't have said that I'll be man enough to say I was wrong in saying that ,& for that I apologize . Now on a different note Fairview tried new things on both sides of the ball last night basically using the game as a tuneup for playoffs . Even though the score ,& stats may not reflect it , Fairview played extremely conservative last night on both O & D. If FHS played with their regular game plan with some players playing out of position last night the score could have been more but that wouldn't have helped either team as well . Lewis did not get full throttle normal game play last night . Again I understand I should have explained better instead of saying 100-0 so I do apologize . Now as far as that tackle no argument from me that it was excessive , shouldn't have never happened , & FHS was lucky not to get flagged nor do I condone that kind of playing . I do hope the boy will make a full recovery

It was an extremely rough season for Lewis County for sure. However there are 5 plays in Friday's game that allowed things to get out of control. WWE slam with no flag otherwise its first and goal from inside the 5. Deep pass for LC that hit WR in the chest but dropped. Two costly fumbles by LC inside there own 20 and another 4th down stop at the goal line that was not whistled dead for forward progress. Not saying any of this makes a difference but I know mentally for any team scoring is a huge momentum boost. Regardless the outcome of the game wouldn't have changed IMO. As far as the game plan for the Eagles after watching the scout film vs Paintsville and others nothing looked different to me at all. short passes getting kids in space to make plays and take shots down the field when able. Good Luck in the postseason hopefully all local teams perform well!!!
