COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson Football team defeated Southeastern (Fla.) at Blue Raider Stadium on Saturday afternoon to remain perfect on the season at 4-0.

Lindsey Wilson's Dylan Beasley completed 13-of-22 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns while junior running back Blake Ingleton recorded a career high 168-rushing yards. It marks the second time in Ingelton's LWC career he has gone over 100 yards on the ground. Charles Gaines had two receptions for 44 yards and a score, Quinten Brown added three more and a touchdown and Mikey Davis led all Blue Raiders with 46 receiving yards.


In a game that featured 934 total offensive yards and 164 plays combined between the two teams, Lindsey Wilson's four takeaways proved to be a crucial factor in the Blue Raider's victory.
After conceding an opening drive 32-yard field goal to Southeastern (3-1), Lindsey Wilson responded with a touchdown with just over seven minutes left in the quarter. A seven-play drive by the Blue Raiders led to a Blake Ingelton score from two yards out.

Southeastern answered with just over one minute left in the quarter on a Jonathan Pearce pass to Quev Gonzales making the score 10-7 going into the second quarter.

The Blue Raiders outscored the Fire 17-7 in the second quarter with Beasley throwing two touchdowns in the frame. The first was to Quinton Brown in the back corner of the end zone who was able to drag his feet in bounds for the score after Beasley had scrambled to create time and help free up his wide receiver.

On the next Fire drive, safety Holt Keeling intercepted a pass to help set up the Blue Raiders in Southeastern territory.
On the next play, Beasley threw his final passing touchdown of the day on a 35-yard pass to Charles Gaines in the back of the endzone, who out-jumped the Fire defender for the score.

LWC opened the second half with a 38-yard field goal from Jared Dougherty, one of three made field goals on the day matching a program record. On the next possession, the Fire drove the ball 10 plays and 77 yards for a Kamario Bell 1-yard score to trim the Southeastern deficit to 27-23.
On the ensuing kickoff, Ingleton returned the ball 99 yards for the score increasing the Lindsey Wilson lead to 33-23 with eight minutes left in the quarter. The return set a program record for longest kickoff return in a game. Dougherty ended the third quarter with another successful field goal, bringing the score to 36-23 going into the fourth.

Southeastern started the fourth with a 10-play scoring drive where they ran the ball nine times for a touchdown to cut it back to a one-score game at 36-30. Following a Blue Raider punt, Southeastern was driving again until the drive stalled forcing a Fire punt in Blue Raider territory.

Beasley then hit Tyrone Stallard for a 32-yard pass into Fire territory, and two plays later Ingleton broke free down the right side and lead blocker Marcus Graham helped escort Ingleton all the way to the end zone.

The Fire put together one final drive, but a Mark Pruitt interception, one of three picks for the Blue Raider defense, ended the threat. Lindsey Wilson was then able to run the ball and kill the clock to improve to 4-0 on the year.
The Blue Raider defense was led by Jalon Kemp who recorded 15 tackles, which tied a program record for tackles in a game, and Joe Lewis who had 12. The four total takeaways tied a season high for the Blue Raiders program. Keeling, Pruitt and TJ James all had interceptions, while Davis recovered a fumble on a mishandled Fire punt attempt.

The Blue Raiders are back in action at 12:30 p.m. CT on Sept. 30 against Cincinnati Christian (Ohio.). I
