Not not 6 in like football??? Football at one time had 3. And 4 was plenty. Like the other sports. Make teams earn it. Like they used to

You have a real nice county team. Record like 28 and 2. Is it fair to play the big power schools. What’s the difference for football.

This is why there should never be one class in football and keep in mind that Paintsville was a top 5 team in 1A.
Frederick Douglas 57
Paintsville 7

if they want to keep it at 6 classes. then they should take the top two team from each district, these two teams go to the playoffs. these 0-10 team should not play in the playoffs.

Rinse. Repeat.

CJ. I completely agree. That’s a point I was trying to make. You want to win state. No cupcake games
03-07-2019, 04:41 AM
Heck cj. A 6 and 4 team shouldn’t be in the playoffs. Unless they only have 1 district loss

Why do we continue to talk about this???They will never ever go back to a four class system and if they could go to a 8 class system they would. Its kids playing a sport...let them have all the opportunity they can get to play as many games as they can.We keep beating this dead horse!!

Then make all sports 3 to 4 classes if we want kids to enjoy sports. I don’t care if they have 10 classes. Treat the kids in every sport as close to the same as you can. Whats wrong with giving kids a chance at a state championship? They do for football.

5 classes and one class is all private schools, let them compete on an even playing field so the public school kids in rural areas donât get cheated by the scholarships and recruiting in Louisville and Northern Kentucky.

Iâm no fan of an 0-10 team making the playoffs. But football is the only sport that doesnât give every team in the state a chance to win it all. Every single team in the state gets to participate in the playoffs in every other sport. If they win district they go to region. If they win region they go to state. Heck, the other sports even give a bunch of teams a second chance. Two teams from each district go to region.

Yeah. Be in a district or region in basketball. Win the region. And then go to state and get run out of the gym by a power school. Is baseball one class? I can’t remember

This is the ....everybody gets a trophy mentality!! I only what to be called the best if Iâm truly the best! There has been a lot of small schools that have won a state championship in basketball.Yes baseball is just like basketball! As far as getting ran out of the gym....Iâve been paying attention to the scores of the sweet 16 this week and there has only been one lopsided score so for the most part all teams in the tournament are on a level playing field.

The polnt is. Other sports don’t have 6 classes. Why football? Used to be 3.

I personally think that there should be 3 classifications in all of the other sports. Itâs not the same game for Scott county that it is for Williamsburg. No matter what the sport is.

If they are so dead set on everyone making it to the state tournament, go to seven classes whenever Wolfe County and Sayre join district play. That will give you seven classes with thirty two teams per class. It would be the most watered down playoff system ever, but every team makes the post season in every other sport... so why not???
