The big three of Louisville have traditionally ruled the largest class in Kentucky and the re-alignment is unlikely to change that. Scott County challenged that domination, but they and Frederick Douglas will drop to 5A and I don't feel like there are any teams expected to take their places.
1. Male
2. Trinity
3. St. Xavier
4. Butler
5. Simon Kenton
6. North Hardin
7. Ballard
8. Madison Central
9. DuPont Manuel
10. Oldham County
The first five are solid, but the last five are anybody's guess. Discussion?

6A is down compared to most years.

First 5 look good. I wouldnât guess past that. Male should be strong this year.

SK should be really good they return a big Oline, Hammack ar RB and return several receivers. Defense should be better also. Thry also upgraded their schedule playing Henry Clay, Johnson Central, Highlands, Oak Hills Ohio and Anderson Ohio.

I would definitely agree. The top three are good. Male are the returning champs, Trinity were young and should bounce back, and Coach Wallace's second year at St. should be even stronger than the first.
But losing Scott County and Frederick Douglas weakens the field considerably and I wouldn't expect any of the new teams to fill those shoes. And I haven't heard any rumors about a normally middle-of-the-pack team being talent heavy - like Lafeyette for a couple seasons - and making a splash this season.

I would add Ryle and Campbell Countyto to the 6 to 10.

Unless Ryle has something really special happening or some exceptional talent coming in I donât expect them to be a top team. If they are top 10 Tateâs Creek needs to be in front of them because they waxed Ryle in the playoffs and they bring back the majority of their team.

Madison Central lost a lot so I donât see them being better than they were last year.

Make is loaded this year. They have some impressive linemen.

I could see adding Campbell County. They did well and Frank Martin makes a good point about Madison Central losing a lot. But why Ryle? True, Ryle is generally one of the top 6A teams in NKY, but they certainly weren't last year and I don't recall hearing anything to suggest they will be vastly improved.

Ryle will do everything they can to put a competitive team out there.

I'm certain they will and hope that they improve over last year's performance, but it's a bit hard to put them in a preseason top ten with just that logic.

SK looks has a lot of depth this season looked good at the spring game yesterday.

How do they compare to last year's team just by the eye test?
Also, what would your top ten look like?

Better! They should have a better passing game. Oline has 2 300 pounders and 2 others in the 260 range. Dline is unreal Vuk Sajlovic has all kinds of college scouts lokking at him. Defense will be alot better this year. Key is alot of Seniors on the roster thos year.

Change will take some time but I think Bullitt East will surprise a couple of teams this year.
05-19-2019, 08:23 AM
^ That is laughable at best. Ethan will run that program into the ground, and move onto a side project in the next two years. LCA was self sufficient, Bullitt East is unstable for many reasons. Doug Preston will tell you first hand. He will win more games due to a schedule put together by Sanders.
I believe the Bullitt East principal is a moron.

The Bullitt East principal owns 7 state championship rings.

When you say "run the program into the ground" do you mean win less than 3 games a year?

No opinion on the principal, but I'm curious what sport the rings are from since I know they've never won state in football.

The principal has 7 football rings as the OL coach at Boyle county.

Oh good lord, everyone in Bullitt County knows Chris Mason is on the verge of getting fired. The man is incompetent. He can't even organize the traffic going into his campus correctly.
Ethan isn't a good football coach. I think he had a decent career at LCA because, well... It's LCA.

I'm picking St. X on the 6A train. Both Male and Trinity lost big parts of their offense, and their offensive coaching staff.

Actually 5 as OL Coach and 2 as OC.

I understand your opinion and you are certainly entitled to it. But again, the program has won 3 games (4 one year) a year for the past several. How is he going to run it into the ground?

X has some big boys this year.

I agree. I expect St. X to do very well this year. They've got a strong player base and Coach Wallace is nobody to mess with.

Win zero games per year?
I can't think of anything else.
