Rumor is The Mingo vs Belfry Pike Co. Bowl game has been canceled due to guidelines set forth by West Virginia on when sports is starting back because of Covid-19. Not sure of all the details. If itâs all true, will Belfry have enough time to find someone to fill in?

This is true. Game is off.

That will leave Belfry with only 8 games this season. RPI could be killer for them with that.

Assuming the season goes on as scheduled, Belfry should contact Highlands or Corbin (if they dont agree to play each other), since both of their TN opponents can't play in their Bowl Game.
Also, look for Ohio or PA teams who were scheduled to play a WV team that same week.
Zanesville Bishop Rosecrans out of OH may be a good option. They were scheduled to play Parkersburg Catholic that weekend. They seem to be a solid team.
West Greene, PA loses a game against Cameron. It is in Southwest PA and could be an option, appear to be a decent team.
Meadowbrook OH loses a game against Wheeling Park. Middle of the pack type of team. Same story with Martins Ferry, OH who loses Linsly that week. martins Ferry is on the other side of the river from Wheeling so not an undo-able drive.
Frontier, OH loses Paden City WV but they might not be a super stout team. Same for Bridgeport, Federal Hocking, OH who seems to be very weak.
Personally, not feeling good that this even matters.

Unfortunately, I just don't see a season forthcoming. Bourbon Co HS announced this morning they will be 100% virtual/non classroom only for the initial 9 weeks of the school year. Don't see how you can play sports and not engage in face to face classroom settings.
Still holding out hope we can move football to the late winter early spring

Best Case Scenario= Delayed Start and District Only Schedule
Most Likely Scenario= Baseball moved to Fall and Football moved to Spring.
Worst Case Scenario= No HS Football until vaccine is successfully developed, tested, and administered.

I don't think they will move baseball to the Fall and football to the Spring due to the fact that would mean that some teams would be ending their season in late May and have to start right back in July. Kids would only get about 2 months off in between seasons if they done that. Then baseball players would go from Fall 2020 until Spring 2022 without having a season.

With states all around us shutting down and postponing sports, I don't see anyway KY moves forward with any kind of football or high contact season in 2020, kids positives and illnesses are on the rise around the nation. It's going to be hard enough to get kids in a classroom for an education without throwing contact sports into the mix until a working vaccine is ready. If you think administrators will gamble a student passing COVID to several other students, and getting pulled into a negligence suit you're crazy, I know I wouldn't gamble a kids health and safety for any reason. We better start looking for something else to do on Friday nights for the foreseeable future. It's not looking good.

Speaking of a vaccine,do you know that more people die with the flu, which has a vaccine , than people with Covid which doesnât have a vaccine? I canât believe how easy some of you have been manipulated with all this Covid 19 crap. From March to May all we heard was death, death and more death. In June the crazies were silent during all of the protesting and now in July since the death counts arenât where the dems want it now theyâve shifted their concerns to positive cases. Weâre getting played like fine tuned fiddle.

I was in the area and one of my friends sons was heading to practice this past week. I was happy to see them back practicing.

Looks like they both share an open date in October. Why not just play the game then.

I must be misinformed but I know I saw where Tennessee had postponed the start of practice, Can't practice damn sure can't play...HA and we have conferences making drastic decisions concerning the season the dominos are starting to fall.
We must understand if THEY say it's not safe for folks to be within 6 feet of anyone we sure as hell aren't going to be tackling and hanging onto strangers, we called every spring sport off with about 3 cases in the state, wonder what they'll do with the numbers we have today, right or wrong good or bad flu or cold whatever you want to call it. If they shut down KING Basketball they won't hesitate to end football. It's horrific what is happening to our country I can't imagine where we'll be in 20 years.
Let's remember KY is a state ruled by the party of Biden, this pandemic will come to an end the day President elect Biden is confirmed.

I guess a answer to the original thread might be yes and no. The KHSAA is having another meeting I think on the 28th. From the meetings I have watched live, JT says every time 2019 will look like 2021 but 2020 will look like no season we have ever seen. Iâm thinking the plan might come to pass this meeting or the next one. There will be football based on what he is saying and ironically old Andy has been asked as well numerous times about it and he is saying the same thing. Corbin already plays a tuff schedule, adding Belfry would be a awesome game. I sure enjoyed watching Belfry last year win that championship game. Truly was a well oiled machine with a exciting running back in Dixon. I was impressed. But if the games start the first of September and the dates are available for each team, and the KHSAA approves then I guess itâs up to the coaches. But if the plan is a strict plan and a limited amount of games like a district only situation in which I feel more games is needed, then I say possibly not. As a fan of the game in the stateâs biggest sport, I would hate to see athletes like Dixon, Sloan from Wayne County not get to shine when they are as good as athletes to have ever play the game at there positions.

Should be even better.
Most of their key play makers were Juniors including three D-1 guys.
Don't think they are ready to battle Trinity, but they should be the best 6A school outside of the Big 3.

FYI
RB Lavell Wright- Committed to UK. Numerous Power 5 offers like Tennessee, WVU, Virginia, Maryland, Prude, Boston College, among others.
DB Jordan Lovett- Committed to UK. Basically the same list as Wright above. Tons of Power 5 offers.
LB Michael Lunz II- Committed to Arkansas State. Offers from Cincy, Akron, Toldeo, and Tulane among others.
WR Marcus Harris- Committed to Kent State. Offers to Ball State and Cincy.
They lose msot of their DLine including Octavious Oxendine, but return their QB, essentially all their top WR's, their LB's, and Secondary.
