Better watch out for the freshman former  breathitt kid at running back gonna come back to his home town and give them a show big number 5
They lose by double digits if they go away from combs running the rock.
how u go to a smaller slower lesser experience back? No hope for Perry this year! Combs probably the best offensive weapon Perry has. too bad Hurley hung it up him and combs could of made a good duo but if I was going to choose a freshman to run the ball I would at least went with the fast one lol. Something else going on here.

Word on the streets is 40 not going to get many touches he will be lead blocking for the freshman Bryson Johnson

Hazards got a jersey waiting for him. If you see him tell him to come on over.

#40 is a brute - Somerset handled him and was able to stop him in his tracks a few times but Somerset's defense is pretty dang good. He would easily run all over a team that wasn't defense strong and if Breathitt doesn't come prepared for him they will be in trouble.

Did he (Johnson) play in the Somerset game? I'm not saying a change up would be a bad idea, but I certainly wouldn't keep the ball away from 40 completely. It's not everyday you see a running back with his size - he's not easy to take down.

I don't think that anyone has disagreed that the particular player you have an obsession with is a terrible athlete, I'm sure he's a great athlete. I think your delivery and constant comments about how he was THE player that made the team what it was is what rubs people the wrong way. One single player doesn't make a team. If he's a good receiver it's because he has a good QB that can get the ball to him and good team-mates that protect him as a runner. He doesn't do all of that by himself. Somerset had a RB (#13) with over 2000 rushing yds last season, 37 TD's, nearly 100 tackles on defense - tremendous athlete that graduated. It would be easy to say that Somerset had a successful season because of him ... but that's not the approach that the team, or that player has ever taken because they ALL realize that it takes ALL HANDS ON DECK to make things happen on the football field. I think that Perry can have a good season they will just adjust each week to put their best players in the spots they need to be.

I'm all for underclassmen getting some playing time on varsity ... that's only going to help their program in the long run. I'm sure Perry will test the waters and see how he does, and if he can get out there and ball out then great. I just would have a hard time seeing them taking the ball completely away from 40 - he can for sure be a playmaker.

There is only a few play makers on Perry’s team Sulivan, combs, deaton, watts. They need to play both side of the ball at all times! No way I’d have my best RB blocking for some one who is not even close to the caliber he is y not put Destin and combs in the back field?

If we can keep pace defensively that will help a ton in this game. As the season goes the defense will carry us this season.

Yep - Breathitt had this same issue last year. Sounds like they need a crash-course on discipline.
I'm really surprised with Coach Holcomb being with the team that discipline is still an issue.  With him not being head coach, and I'm guessing not in the school each day, I guess he might not have the influence that he would have otherwise. But I can't help but think his influence will help with the discipline as the year goes on. Not to mention helping develop a young quarterback.

Because holcombs not the hard a$$ he was back in the 90s. He’s chilled out drastically and hes stated these kids today aren’t the same as they were in the 90s. He said they are raised different and you have to handle them totally different.

So one kid get kick out game and we have discipline problem!!! That is insane!!! Kid has come long way !! He just snap and made bad choice. I m sure he has payed dearly for it.This team will return almost every kid next year but I still think if continue stay healthy watch out towards end of season. Defense will improve each week and offense will to . As keep open up the playbook be solid team.

One kid getting kicked out isn't a discipline problem. Numerous kids being ejected from games season after season is a problem. This isn't the first time a player has been kicked out of a game ... but it was also game 1 of the season.

You can't go off that one kid being kicked out I think it's just a behavioral problem with that kid his brothers were given several techs an ejected from basketball games an cost wolfe a district championship an then showed real poor sportsmanship when he threw his runner up medal across the gym after they gave it to him

This is different team . These kids not like that!!! Taking one kid judge the whole team that crap. I about guarantee no other kid does that all year. Especially the younger kids they just want to win. Great group of kids. Hope they come out tonight and play with hair on fire. More confidence that get the better they will get

I’m not labeling the team off one kid - I made my comment based off last season and someone saying that a kid was ejected in game 1 of this season. I’m sure you could see how one may assume this is business as usual for breathitt.  I hope you’re right and I’m sure they want to have a good season, too.

Guys calm down. Breathitt will win tonight if they stop our run game, we can’t stop them from scoring , so Breathitt wins something like 28-15
#52
Whoever posted the site of the PCC first game thx. So I went and watched PCC first game and the first thing I noticed was the hogs up front for PCC. Plus they have a big kid over 200lbs in the back field that runs down hill. This will give breathitt fits as they don’t tackle well and if pcc sticks to the ground and pound they will win by double digits.

This is essentially week 1 for both teams. Neither team should be a top 10 mountain team, but went on the road week one and played two consensus top 4 teams in the mountains. Perry is big up front and has a great running game, but can get the passing game going i believe against weaker skill positions. Somerset had very very good skill positions, so it’s hard to judge them in comparison. I doubt breathitt has such athletes to slow them down. Everyone saying breathitt wins if they stop the run game, but i think the air attack will take perry over the top.

Perry 28
Breathitt 20
